Yankees break slump with a Jem

by Flap Jack

The Yankees bats broke out of their slumbering nap last night as the Bronx Bombers thumped the Milwaukee Brewers 12-3. While the Yankees were ecstatic about the victory, they knew they hadn't done it alone. After yet another loss on Tuesday night, the Yankees brought in an old friend to help avoid a sweep to the Brewers. Yankees special scout, Aunt Jemimah, spoke with the team before the game. Her words were like sweet syrupy music to the players and coaches ears.

"She told me this would the night I would get my 400th home run", said Alex Rodriguez, shortly before he and "Jemmy" or "AJ", as the players call her, headed to the showers with a bottle of Vermont's best.

Jemmy had an effect on more than just the players though. In the 5th inning, Brady Clark was apparently out on strikes after not being able to check his swing. The first base umpire, Bill Vanover thought differently and motioned with his hands stretched outward from his sides, that Clark had checked his swing. Tino Martinez was ejected after commenting on the pitch. "That's when Jemmy stepped in", said manager Joe Torre. "She slapped the cup of green tea out of my hand and said", "you get out there and get your fat (expletive) kicked out of this game". "She really fired me up".

General Manager Brian Cashman who arrived back in Milwaukee earlier in the day was happy, but not surprised by last night's turnaround. "You don't want to go to the well too often, but we knew AJ could come in here and inspire these guys. We really didn't want to resort to this, but we knew the team needed a kick in their collective behinds." When asked if Aunt Jemimah had an effect on him, Cashman responded,"once you go maple, you never go back."

Aunt Jemimah was happy to contribute. "You know I've been doing this kind of work for many years and I know a thing or two about batters. When asked about last years brief controversy surrounding Mrs. Butterworth and George Steinbrenner, Aunt Jemimah responded, "you'll have to ask Mr. Steinbrenner about that little ho." The Yankees can only hope this is the start of something big.

Here's a sad little fact from Long John for yee to ponder: The Schmets have a better chance to make the playoffs this year than the Skanks.

At least they have a true #1 with Balls! :agent:

Funny stuff, but for future references, MM, there's no H at the end of her name. As a loyal user of her syrup since I was a little kid, it's Aunt Jemima.
