Simple question. As of right now do you think they'll make it. I say no. |

As of now, I am going with no. I'd have to see the potential changes, but I don't see this team playing consistent winning baseball for long enough to win the East, which I think might be necessary this year to make the playoffs. I hope I am wrong. |

How about Zito, and Byrnes to the Yanks? Yanks send Phillips,Cabrera, Depaula Giambi, Brown, Quantrill, and 70 million to Oakland! Brown is in the last year of his contract, so Oakland can plug him in in Zitos place. 70 million covers f*cknuts and his sorry contract, Phillips is just wasting away in the minors, Cabrera is a decent outfield prospect, and Depaula is back and doing well in the minors, after his injury. I think a change of scenery is good for all parties involved. Byrnes is playing on a 1 year contract, if he doesn't cut it here its not a problem, and is only making about 2.5 mil. Zito has been pitching better lately, but I think he needs a change. He has one more year at 6.5 i think, after this season. |

No we won't be making the playoffs. This team is just too lifeless and inconsistent. I don't even know if a few changes could turn this team around. I say just have a fire sale, then retool in the offseason, since this franchise doesn't rebuild. It wouldn't hurt if we went and looked for some top minor league prospects though. |

As you know, I actually agree with you on this issue. It's rare we agree, but I guess it just takes an actual bad year for it to happen. |

I usually don't go against my brothers but I'm still going to say YES. I know, I'll take some sh*t for this, and I'm not sunshinin', that's for damn sure. Too much talent, this bunch will over come. I just don't know when. :no1: |

Gotta go with no. They're digging themselves too much of a hole. And even they plug some holes here or there, which they say they don't need to do :wtf: , I don't see it happening. There will be only 1 playoff team out of the East this year. |

Yes. We'll pick up somebody that nobody even thought of (like Justice in 2000), and we'll get rolling. |

How am I not a realist for saying we'll make the playoffs? I expect this team to still turn this sh*t around, I'm not quite ready to give up on the summer of excitement. Talk to me in about after the break, then I'll be ready to declare this a no go. |

:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: Not a chance in hell. The 2000 squad actually had some somewhat competent pitchers. This team can't pitch, can't hit, and they can't field. It's disgusting. It's going to take a hell of a lot more than one hitter to turn this pathetic season around. |

:please: Zito is all show and no go. He's living on his Cy season. The guy's a head case soft lesbian and he's not even here yet. Usually they wait to get here before turning into busts. I want no part of that wuusebag. To show you how little Sid Rosenburger knows, on FAN he said we gotta trade Cano and Wang for Zito. Sadly, the Jankees ain't making the playoffs. It's time to get rid of the over the hill bunch. Cut yer losses and bring in some young blood to complement our "core". |

Why would the Athletics organization want Mr. Cano? They are all about plate discipline, and Mr Cano hasn't shown any. |

By the way, Mike also said you start the deal with Cano and Wang, plus let the A's have any other minor leaguers, which would mean someone like Philip Hughes (available a year after he signed) or Eric Duncan too. No thanks. |
