Cincinnati has no pitching. Can the Mets and Cinncy make a trade? The Mets have an excess of starters that are better then what Cinncy has and Cinncy’s season is unraveling around them. They may be open to a trade. What do they have that could fill some holes with the Mets. Sean Casey perhaps, but for who? |

I'd trade Ishii for Ryan Wagner in a NY minute. |

Marty Brennaman, the radio voice of the Reds for over 30 years, was on with Mike and Dog today. They asked if anyone on that team was untouchable. Brennaman said probably not, but the closest guy to untouchable on their roster is Sean Casey because the owner loves him as a player, but apparently as a person a lot too. I guess he's gotten to know him. Also, what hole would Casey fill on the Mets? Would they be dealing Mientkiewicz in the deal too? |

I would say so, casey is a better player than mientkiewicz, i'm sure the mets would deal minky and someone else for casey!!! |

casey is the third best first basemen in the league, minky is 4th or 5th on my list. Reds have a young firstbasemen comming up, supposedly like our david wright and they have to make room for him somehow. |

Sean Casey is nice. Start with Zambrano and Doug M and see where it goes. |

On second thought, they want better pitching, so that rules out Zambrano. Maybe Heilman, Doug M, and a prospect would do it? |

They're basically out of the race, so it's a safe bet they won't panic and trade a top player/prospect for Zambrano. :smirk: |

I agree with Mattingly23, Casey is the last guy the reds would deal on that team. They'd have to be blown out of the water with a package like Humber and another prospect for him and I wouldn't do that anyway. You can pretty much get anyone on that team except Casey. But there isn't much there except for Dunn, and I'd pass on him. I'd take Ryan Wagner though. Trade Ishii and Strickland for Wagner, then release Dejean. |

The Cinccy owner is such a cheap mf that if you would throw in enough money for him to put in his fat wallet he would give you Casey and Wagner. Oh yeah and you would have to take Griffey off of his hands. |

But it is all about money with the Reds owner and he owes a fortune to Griffey for years to come. BTW Ishii's value to Reds probably went up tonight. |

that is what i wanted to do in the offseason, trade floyd for griffey and casey. Im sure you couldve replaced floyd with a pitcher, but if we accept griffey we can get anyone on their team. Griffey wouldve played left and casey wouldv eplayed first and we wouldnt of went after minky. |

That's why I want the Yankees to give away whatever prospects they have left in order to get him, thinking he would help. I'd sit back and watch the folding commence. |
