Castro placed on the DL. Not sure of his injury. Mike DeFelice called up. Don't know who was taken off the 40 man roster for this move. Also according to Eddie Coleman on WFAN, Zambrano will back up Ishii tomorrow. If Zambrano is needed in the game tomorrow, he will start sunday's game against the Yankees. If he isn't needed, he will start saturday's game. According to Coleman, the Mets have said they are sending no one to the bullpen and Heilman will prob start against Atlanta next week. He says that is seems to him that if Zambrano has another one of his usual performances during his start this weekend, he thinks Zambrano will prob be asked to go to the minors. That would then be the move that makes room for Strickland. |

So we start with Mike Piazza, Vance Wilson, and Jason Phillips as the catching and now we have Mike Piazza and Mike DiFelice. When you have a number one catcher who has one foot into retirement that is injury prone, poor defensively, and has descended from a HOF hitter to Mickey Mouse and can’t catch everyday when he is healthy the backup catcher is more important then your number 5 starter. Especially when your number 5 starter throws 84mph and walks the f*cking universe who the Dodgers were so happy to get rid of I understand the Dodgers General Manager personally drove Ishii from Vero Beach to Port St. Lucie. So now we have Mike friggen DiFelice. The guy is a career .239 hitter who hit .136 for the Tigers last year. Did not the guy retire after last season because nobody wanted him any more? I like what Omar has done with this team (although they are only one game ahead of the pace they set last year with Art Howe as manager and no Pedro, Wright, and Beltran), but as he did with the Expos he tends to make quick judgments on some trades that blow up in his face. So when Piazza doesn’t play we have Mike DiFelice. :woot1: |

:-| The mets had to trade him, they needed a starting pitcher at the time, who knew heilman and seo would pitch this good!!! |

We are talking about a number 5 starter here. Ishii is not as good as Trax. Over a season things have a way of working themselves out. A patient approach sometimes is the best approach. Right now, just 1.5 months into the season, there are too many starters and we have Mike Difelice as the backup catcher. |

You know what? I honestly don't give a sh*t about the phillips rade right now. Phillips was never going to start with the Mets. kaz Ishii was going to be a starting pitcher for at least half the season. The deal made sense. This isn't nearly as bad as Mora for Mike Bordick. |

What is done is done. But in the future I would like to see some planning put into the trades. I hope DiFelice has a epiphany, or a bolt of lightening hits his ass and he plays very well for the Mets or at least as well as Castro so he can back up Piazza until Castro comes back. Let us hope that Piazza stays healthy. |

You guys are overdoing it with phillips, he's a good hitter but as i said before the mets had to make that trade, if the mets didn't do anything fans like us would have went crazy and said the mets sat on their ass and did nothing, they did what they had to do!!! |
