Well, from what I've heard from other teams' announcers, Beltran induces fear into other pitchers. Don't forget, I watch MLB Extra Innings to get my Mets games. And sometimes they're on other teams' broadcasts. |

i wasnt here calm your tits, there is a whole other thread devoted to you in another forum that you have seen but yet to answer. he is selfish because he doesnt move runners over, he misses cutoffs, the missing cutoffs just shows that he would rather not play with a team |

ya when no one is out, therefore it is for a basehit. When there is a runner on second with no outs i do not want to see beltran up. Today he got lucky, instead of hitting a ground ball to the right side he hits a line drive right at mabry, he got lucky mabry had it pop outta his glove because we would of not scored any runs that inning and beltran would be the blame. |

:wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: you're wrong. He has bunted with players on base. But even if he didn't, that wouldn't make him selfish. |

Sunshine, he is paid $100M to be the team's main RBI man. He's not supposed to be bunting with a runner in scoring position. And like Ray said earlier, he's done damn well hitting w/ RISP. Bunting and moving guys over is for Reyes, Matsui, and Mientkiewicz to a certain extent. And the cutoff thing is ridiculous. How does missing the cutoff man mean he doesn't wanna play with a team? It means either or both of these things: (1) He's trying too hard and wants to nail the runner. (2) He's got bad aim. I've seen Ichiro overthrow a cutoff man a few times. Does it mean he's selfish? Wait, it can't; he bunts. Sunny, give it up. I don't wanna have to argue with you but this is balderdashian preposterousness. |

Speaking of Mulligan, I could of used a couple this past weekend Signed, Tiger Wooods :P |

Oh god, it's going to stick with this man his whole life no matter how good a career he has had. Signed, Wacko Jacko... But anyway...He had a show one day with Jim Everett and Jim kept calling him Chris Everett(A tennis player right?) and Jim was getting annoyed...Finally Jim said it one more time and Jim flips over the table and pushes Jim down the onto the floor...I think Chilli Cheese had the video to it... |

A while ago Rome interviewed Jim Everitt (whose last name I can't actually spell). he called him Chrissy, Everrit told him to stop, Rome said it again, Everett lunged over a table at Rome and Rome hid behind his chair. Google it, I'm sure you'll find a video clip. |

bullsh*t i dont want him bunting i just want to get sac flies and moving the runner from second to third if there are no outs he missed the cutoff man at least 4 times this year, probably more. The last one was just horrible when he threw to the wrong base. |

He's not your "move the runner over" hitter. He is the 3-hitter in your lineup. The RBI man. When there's a runner on base (especially in scoring position), its his job to DRIVE HIM IN. If he was bunting with a runner at 2B, he wouldn't be doing his job. Do you think Barry Bonds, Albert Pujols, or Vlad Guerrero is bunting with a runner at 2B? You said the others are clutch. You can't be clutch when you're bunting. AND FROM THE NUMBERS RAY POSTED, HE'S DONE WELL WITH RISP.
How does that indicate selfishness? He WANTS to f*ck up and throw to the wrong base? |

And because of that, he's selfish. Why don't you do some research? Based on everything I've read, Beltran is a nice, respectful, jesus freak. |

the numbers ray posted are extremly empty, they dont tell you the whole story. they dont say where he hit it, how hard he hit, who he hit it off of, how hot or cold piazza or floyd were. All of that is missing. Right now beltran looks like an average player and he isnt even on a cold streak, wait till he gets on one of those. more stats, beltran has done most of his damage for pedro, our best pitcher, our ace. Wouldnt that run support be much more needed somewhere else? |

I could post Pujols' or Guerrero's numbers too, and you wouldn't be able to tell what situations, what pitches he got the hits off of, or how hard they hit the ball either. You could say anyone's stats are "empty", as you put it. There's never any way to know whether or not those base hits are dribblers down the third base line or hard line drives into the gap in right-center field. Use some common sense. |
