Just an update to let you know that Bobby Valentine is manager of the Chibba Lotte Marines. As of this date they are doing great running away with first place. This team over the past 20 years has done poorly. About 6 or 7 years ago they recurited Bobby V as their manager and he brought them up to 2nd place. The fans and players loved him, but the Japanese GM hated him and had him fired. Well they recruited him again this year and has the best record. He brought with him Matt Franco and Benny Agbayani.

Franco batting .348, slugging .583 10 doubles, 7 homers, 29 rbi's, .400 on base

Agbayani batting .296, slugging .520 10 doubles, 6 homers, 37 rbi's, .345 on base

That goes to show you how much easier it is to hit in Japan.

Give us an update on Karim Garcia and Shane Spencer.

They were arrested urinating in front of a Japanese Pizza Palour.

Gabe Kapler doesn't even start in Japan, and for some reason, baseball writer Lawrence Rocca is now "Director of Promotions" for Chiba Lotte.

I was wondering why Rocca was no longer writing for The Star Ledger.

Spencer is hitting .260 with 4 HRs.

Kapler's hitting .152

Garcia may be hurt...not in any recent box scores.

Fernando Seguignol and Erick Almonte are stinking up the joint over there too.

Don't be so sure of that. One way to prove it though. Have the American World Series champs face the Japanese Professional Champs. Any takers?

I'm not saying the American teams would win every time, but think about all of the sucky hitters who have gone to Japan and thrived. You mentioned two of them. How about Tuffy Rhodes? Orestes Destrada? How about that the Matsuis were better over there?
