Strickland on way back?

Scott Strickland could force his way onto the big-league club by the weekend. Strickland, who has three saves and a 1.42ERA through six appearances at Triple-A Norfolk, has an out in his contract on Sunday if he's not promoted. Strickland is back throwing 90 mph, near his pre-June 2003 Tommy John elbow surgery velocity....

We'll prob see him by this weekend or early next week at the latest.

Swap him for Zambrano if Victrocious bottles it again tonight. If Zammy throws a gem, then trade him before some team realizes it's a fluke. I can't think of any pitcher that should make room for him. Maybe Aybar, but he's the guy I want pitching in blowouts.

Zambrano should be the one sent to the pen and relegated to blowout duty.

I would bring up Strickland before he ends up somewhere else and does a fine job for them while we keep on trotting in Koo and Dejean and consider it a victory if we hold the other team to two or three runs.

But the Mets will say goodbye to Strickland because he came in a minor trade and the Mets do not look bad in releasing him. The Mets (make that Wilpon) are to sensitive about looking bad in previous fa signings and trades gone south.

Zammy has had 2 good (by his standards) starts in a row. We can cut Aybar, but that would mean a good pitcher would be wasted in the long relief role. I'd rather we make a trade soon. If we let everyone heal and have excess SPers, then teams aren't going to give us anything in return for guys like Ishii and Zambrano because they know we're desperate to get rid of them.

The mets should cut aybar and have ishii as a long reliever but that's not gonna happen cause willie has no balls!!!

Can't unless Ishii starts an inning. He takes too long to warm up and even then he walks the ball park.

Zambrano can probably fetch us a reliever or two if we traded him now. I'd trade him and put Ishii in his spot.

A rotation of:
Pedro
Glavine
Benson
Zambrano
Ishii

Doesn't scare anybody but Met fans.

I think it's a bad idea to let him be a FA. He has talent that we can use. I'd hate to see him sign on with another team in the division (like Washington) and flourish.

There are very few who can handle the pressure. Most of them went to the Yanks and can no longer do so. We have nothing to lose because it's unlikely we'll have to pitch in such "big spots" this season anyway. People deserve second chances.

WOW, benitez is the worst pressure pitcher in the game, f*ck him, he f*cked over the mets so many times while he was here, when strickland was first traded to the mets he and benitez made a great tag team. Armando would blow the game in the 9th and scotty would totally lose the game in the 10th, that use to happen all the time, f*ck them both, if strickland stays fine but if he doesn't then i won't cry over it!!!
