Why is Sanchez starting at 2B today? Where's the game thread? We aren't looking "prepared" right now. Don't front like ya'll aint home or you've got something to do. I just woke up 10 minutes ago. |

Torre wanted to get some different guys some at bats. I think Sanchez' only time has been as a defensive replacement when Jeter got plunked and last night at 2B in the 9th. |

Is that a must, this early? Especially during a Johnson start. Does he have good numbers against Chen? If its that then I understand. Otherwise, I disagree with this. Ray Sanchez is nothing more than an injury replacement/garbage time "ahh f*ck, its over anyway" guy. |

yeah, there's really no point in giving guys days off until this team gets into a groove. we're only 4 games into the season. |

Tony Womack is not above getting a day off to get Rey Sanchez in there once in awhile. It's not like he's spelling Jeter. The Sox didn't start Damon or Renteria today. Players get days off here and there. It's not a big deal whatsoever, plus you got to see Womack in there later in the game anyway.
You want him feeling comfortable in there. Sojo was the master of sitting for 2 straight weeks, then getting a big hit or making a nice play in the field. That's a rare breed. You have to get guys like Sanchez a few at bats here and there. |

ironiclly that is probably why he is starting now. When you got your premier pitchers you want defense and dont really need offense, because you figure johnson will hold it down. I would much rather have sanchez starting during a johnson game then during a wright game, because you might need womack's offense then. |
