"You can't survive if you don't pitch inside. I'm sorry. That's part of the game. If you try not to demand the inside of the plate, you're going to die. Other guys may not say that verbally, but that's just the way it is." Mike Timlin in today's Boston Globe. They hit us 5 times in the series and we didn't hit a batter. f*ck this pussyfooting around, Joe Torre! This team has gotta step up and be men, starting with that pussy willow Mussina and yes, including Mo Rivera. |

Did you hear Torre with Fatso and Fruitloops before? He did nothing but down play Jeter and everyone else getting hit. Torre isn't gonna do sh*t about this. The players need to take matters into their own hands. |

If we don't brush some Red Sox back next week, I've decided that Joe makes the list. |

put him down. even if someone hits a red sock or brushes them back next week, it will be completely against torre's wishes. |

Yeah, when are the Yankees going to throw some heat under the chins of the Bo-Sox players? |

When a pitcher on this team finally decides to be a man and handle things himself rather than listening to everything "Papa Joe" says. This is getting ridiculous, I'm tired of it. It's like 57-0 in favor of the Red Sox beaning us the last few years, it MUST end THIS season! :furious: |

I said it before and I'll say it again...Torre shouldn't have to tell these guys to protect their teammates. The Yankees need to make a statement up in Boston. Damon (being the leadoff man) and Ortiz (being a killer) need to put on their asses. |

When exactly did this become Torre's philosophy anyway? The 98 team never took any sh*t. NEVER. I remember one game Bernie got plunked...the next INNING Mendoza put one in somebody's ass and then turned around so Bernie could tip his cap to him. Jeter got plunked by Clemens that year and the Fat Toad nailed Shannon Stewart. Tino got plunked that year and Straw Man beat the piss out of Armando Benitez. The real problem here is that these guys don't look out for eachother. When Benitez hit Tino in the back it was like "oh hell no!" now its like "ok runner on first". Torre doesn't help the matter, but its a little depressing that the 60+ year old manager has to tell sombody to stick up for his teammates. I never liked Clemens, but This team needs someone like him. |
