As long as Mo continues to pitch like this against them. We're in trouble. But even more than him, we can't have people playing sh*t defense like GAY-Rod did. Poolboy gets the blame for this one. |

with mo doing so horrible, it's time to get creative. no more oversaturation of mo versus the sox. it's time we use matchups against boston in the ninth. let mo get some work in the 6th or none at all. boston hitters don't need to see him all the damn time. i'm trying to look up pitchers that are obtainable that matchup well agianst boston's big guns. ricardo rincon and arthur rhodes are two lefties with real good numbers off a few. |

The last thing I need is for this team to win 108 games and then lose in the ALCS to Boston cause Mo blew 2 saves. I knew he never should have taken the off season off. Mel better start working with Mo on a new pitch. This is unexceptable. |

He should've kept pitching in the offseason, no doubt. And unfortunately, as you stated, Mel is the pitching coach he has to work with. What a bad, bad combo. Fire Mel now and get somebody with a clue who can help Mo. That's all I can ask. |

I'm tired of seeing everyone pat Mo on the back. You're sending the wrong message. You gotta go up to him and say to his face you let the team and the fans down. If you don't do that he'll never make the right adjustments. |

Hey, I agree with you, but the guy calling the shots, Clueless Joe, will keep going to Mo anyway. Besides, we're not going to be making any trades for anybody. Not that I'd mind, with our asinine payroll, we should most definitely win 110+ games and a WS. So go for it all. But I don't know who's available and more importantly what team would be willing to help us? |

that Randy Johnson closing on non-starting days in the playoffs against Boston isn't seeming like a half-bad idea right now at all.. |

It all stems from Torre. Torre let's that kind of sh*t happen. |

torre should have never gotten that extension. he goes to sleep, automatically putting in the gordons and riveras with no backup plan if something fails. we need someone that drive the plane, not someone that relies on auto-pilot at the end of big games. |

You guys are damn right about Torre. And what pisses me off, it's not just with this situation, it's stuff like Boston hitting our players... How far ahead of us are they now after Jeter took one in the head today? Is it 10-0? 12-0? It's something ridiculous. This team needs to tune Torre and his coaches out and grow some balls. So far, the guy with the most guts on this team the last two years is Sturtze. I'd like to see some more people join him. |

Yup, I said that in another thread. That guy is now no. 1 on my shitlist he is my MOST hated player on the Yankees. He's gone from best in the game to not even top 20. He's an a-hole. |

sturtze only showed balls in the brawl. he hasn't exactly excelled against boston and he hasn't been brushing them off the plate. he could afford to do that as well. |

All of A-Rods talk in the off-season was just that....talk. Despite the disgusting post season he had in 2003 Soriano was 10x's more clutch than this guy. I'm getting sick of him real quick. |

His act has gotten tired. I said it in the offseason after his "we want to beat Schilling up," line. I took some crap for calling him a bitch who does nothing more than talk. Looks like I'm right again. He couldn't have gotten a more routine grounder to end the game and he f*cks it up. He's all talk, no walk. I'm done with him. He can feck off. :fyou: |

Today's game was lost by MO and A-Rod. Mo should have not put guys on base like he did and A-Rod should have made that final play. There were also times in the game where the Yankee offense could of scored more runs and didn't!! Even though Mariano melted down against Bastan today for the 2nd time he will be thrown out there next week against Bastan if there's another save opportunity. The only way he can overcome this is to finally save a game against Bastan!! If he pitches like he did in game 7 of the '03 ALCS then he can overcome this!! He just has to return to that form!! |

Let me make it real easy for you. We have 16 games left against the Sox this year. Figure Mo appears in about half those games? They may not all be save situations but I think it's fair to say he'll be in roughly 8 more games against them. Mo has clearly hit rock bottom against the Sox. He needs to show in those 8 games that he can beat this team. We could be a 110 win team and the Sox could be a 92 win wild card team but if we were to meet in the ALCS with Mo still having problems against them, I'd pick the Sox to win the series without hesistation. |

You'd pick the Red Sox to win without hesitation with a normal Mo. |

Exactly, games aren't played on paper, they're played in little TV sets. Lets see if Mo turns things around before we declare who has won the season series or ALCS after 3 games have been played in 2005, which the Yankees have gone 2-1 despite two Mariano blown saves, by the way. I won't know if the Yankees can beat Boston until the games are actually played. I am not a psychic like Yanks473 or Mini473. |
