Pete Rose, who admitted to gambling a year ago in his book “My Prison Without Bars”, published another book yesterday in an attempt to reclaim the attention that is now focused on Jose Canseco and his book, “Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits, and How Baseball Got Big”. Rose said that although steroid use is cause for concern, Major League Baseball also needs to stop pretending players aren’t masturbating.

”To say that the Player’s Association doesn’t know that players are poking the one-eyed snake is ridiculous. They knew,” said Rose. “I hate to point fingers, but even teammates of mine in Cincinnati boxed the clown one, two times a day. Guys would go into a bathroom stall to do it before or after a game. Joe Morgan even told me that he once used a sock in car on the way home from practice. Heck, I even got off in a Waffle House bathroom. It was baseball’s dirty little secret in the 70’s, and it’s happening today.” Rose also admitted that during his playing days, he also used to tear the tags off mattresses, swim less then 15 minutes after eating, sand return VHS tapes without rewinding them.
