my boy number 2 boy petit with an awesome inning. Piazza nice throw and nice tag by woodward (he threw out castillo).

we traded jp for no reason, this man should be our number 5 starter.

Cameron should've caught that ball. Bad play, but he does need to be given some time. The ball off the bat in RF looks a lot different than the ball off the bat in CF. It's a tougher read, unlike what Healy and Robinson said. I played all three OF positions in college and no one can tell me differently.

ya i was going to say that if someone laughed at me for saying cameron is the better fielder.

i play all three as well and its 10 times easier to get a better jump in center

The truest read of any position on the field.

Agreed Timo, Petit could definitely use more seasoning, especially since they picked up a serviceable temporary replacement in ishii and only give up phillips (who hit .191 last season). No use in rushing him. Petit could become something special. :peace:

Petit's good, but he clearly still needs to refine himself.

Depending on how he pitches this season in the minors, perhaps Trachsel will be let go next offseason.

Glavine will be here. He has an option based on innings pitched.

If Glavine throws 196IP this year, his option for next year becomes guaranteed.

petit didn't look very impressive tonight, he was hanging curveballs all over the place and leaving too many pitches over the plate but he does have some good stuff, he just needs more time in the minors, i'm so glad the mets traded for ishii!!!

There never should be any corolation between Ishii and Petit. Petit was not going to be the Mets no. 5 starter this year no matter what. They guy only started 2 games at Binghamton last year. We will see Petit early next year in MLB.

i know, either way i'm just glad the mets got ishii, like i said petit is nowhere near ready, he has good stuff though and i can't wait to see him with the big club in the next year or so!!!

I think they got Petit to the game late tonight because of the Pedro scratch. I believe that he had to drive up from St Lucie and short notice.
