This might change the way the MLB is today.... Today, March 17th , 2005 , Congress(U.S. House of Representatives) will get involved with the MLB and it's Steroid issue. Various people are to attend.... *The Hearings can be seen LIVE at 10:00 A.M. on ESPN News (I belive ESPN News)
*Great info. onto why these people are attending. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2010674 So....Let this be the thread where everything on this topic goes down (saves space for all the other threads that might happen). Keep us updated with News about it that you hear throughout the day and what not. Or just discuss your feelings on the whole situation. I'll start it off... I honestly don't see why CONGRESS must get invovled. Im guessing, if Bud is being a woose about the whole situation (and it seems like that. I mean he can't just put an * on someones records who used roids'). I also don't understand why in the world Bonds isn't going. Man its obvious he has used roids' but I guess thye just dont see that <_< .. Also, is it me or is Frank Thomas's reasoning onto why he DIDN"T want to attend a little weird..... (read it in the link I provided above ^). So...hence the title, Let The Game's Begin! |

nah, thomas reasoning doesn't sound as stupid as i thought it would be. his ankle is a serious injury that is going to keep em out longer. why does he have to be inconvienced over this crap? your right. congress needs to butt their noses out of it. from the list of people testifying, im sure they are going to act like its their business, since some irresponsible kids with irresponsible parents abused steroids and they want to point a finger elsewhere |

all of the players that attended today, especially McGwire just wanted to jump outta there seats and beat the CRAP outta Jose Canseco. Man Canseco Canseco caused A LOT of s.hit..... Baseball will NEVER be the same again :no1: :crybaby: |

i never thought i'd be on canseco's side on anything anymore, but i'm demanding he charge schilling and break his freaking neck. all schilling does is take cheap shots at canseco. enough. answer the friggin questions without the cheap shots. canseco isn't apart of the questions being asked to schilling. |

very vindictive towards the committee. trying to answer as little questions as possible. constantly chiming in, "im an ex player." i know this is none of congress' business, but he could be a lot nicer about this, like palmeiro |

Someone find the SI article that Schilling talked about how steroids are getting out of hand. Fatcesa was talking about it, wondering why none of the senators brought it up. LMAO, Canseco thinks his book has done a public service and knocked down the usage. a-hole. |

they mentioned something to that extent and schilling siad that he overstated the case. it's good to see schilling acting like scum, since it's easier to root against him. im actually on canseco's side as opposed to schilling. they're both lying, but schilling is just acting like a total victim. |

I've been watching this since I got home from work around 4pm and while I have no idea yet what went on from 10am till then I have to say this is the best comedy I've seen on TV in a long time. I was sick of Schilling 15 minutes into watching and Canseco does more flip flopping than John Kerry. This entire hearing is a complete laughing stock. |

well, i thought they asked him directly about that, but they didn't until a moment ago where he said the same thing that he overstated the case and wasn't educated enough on it. so, basically, he's saying i open my mouth without having anything useful to say. big surprise. |

A couple of things. Everybody who takes the fifth admits to the world hey I used it and so did some of my teammates. The committee members asking the question did not do their homework. Since taking Roids is illegal they have the right to hold this inquisition. We found out that the agreed upon Drug plan is a f*cking joke. A guilty player can be given a ten day suspension or fined $10,000. $10,000 for these aholes is like a buck for us. If they take the fine then they can opt to not have their name broadcast publicly. So we don’t know who is taking and what? Donld Fehr should be thrown in f*cking jail with Big Bubba and become Big Buuba’s girl friend. |

Mac was just trying to keep it positive, for the kids. Sosa looks funny whenver he dresses up. He puts whatever sh*t he puts in his hair, parts it, and holds his goofy smile extra long. Remember his re-wedding? Dude's hair looked like a Lego man's. |

He always has that line part in his hair. His lips look like Wanda from "In Living Color." IT SOOOOOOOOO REAL was one of the best commercials ever! On a whole Mac embarassed himself. Guilty. I actually believe Palmiero didn't..Sosa did and now stopped and Curt Schilling is a f*cking idiot. What a fake tough guy. Congress actually should over rule and piece of sh*t player's union and impose the regulations. STERIODS are illegal. BTW Where are you BARRY???? |
