I'm still bitter about the Kazmir trade. I know it's time to move on but with every horrible outing by Zambrano, I can't help but imagine how dumb you'd have to be to trade Kazmir for him. Tampa must have been laughing their asses off when the Mets agreed to that.

Not patient at all. They dealt a future ace for him, for the trade to be justified Zambrano has to fulfill his potential immediately.

I have low expectations to be honest. I don't think there is any doubt that the Mets made a mistake of epic proportions. It's all about damage control now. I'm hoping he can hold up for most of the season and give us solid starts as a 3/4 starter. We were raped. As is usual in all rape cases, the victims have to move on, but one has to live with the experience for the rest of his/her/its life.

Can you please explain to me what you gain by making a mockery out of yourself every single time you post?

the guy is ace potentiol, all he needs to do is cut down on his balls, he got everything else in place.

He was top 5 in oba the last two years in the al against teams such as the yanks, orioles and bosox, that is special.

Sunshine, the problem is that people said Zambrano was "almost there" for a while now. I'm losing faith in his ability to progress based on his poor showing this spring, his poor health last summer and his inconsistent history in Tampa.

You know what's really pathetic is that old mets' brass would still consider Kazmir a year away from contributing on the major league level. What grass were they smoking? Kazmir is better than Zambrano today, right now, at this moment....

Ok, I'll try my darndest not to dwell on this.

I sent an email to “firearthowe.com” (I did not use gategem then) blasting the trade when it was made. Zambrano was throwing 88 to 90 mph last night. Where is that 93 to 95 mph fast ball that DumDum Duquette said he had? I have not seen it since he became a Met. Was not Rick, I walk on water while other pitching coaches just p*ss it out, Peterson supposed to straighten him out in the time it takes to eat baked beans and blast one. BTW who the hell has Rick Peterson turned around from ahole to Cy Young candidate on this team? Some guys get a reputation and it sticks with them even when they don’t deserve it. Well Zambrano still runs deep counts and walks enough batters to qualify for the March of Dimes Marathon. This trade is going to go down with the Nolan Ryan trade as one of the worst and it will haunt the Mets for a long time. The only way the Mets can stop looking like idiots on this trade is if Kazmir blows his arm out. But I expect that to happen to Zambrano before it happens to Kazmir.

Scott Strickland was throwing 88 to 90 mph today. If he ever gets his fastball back it will probably be next year. Right now he is just another mediocre pitcher who will only be effective if he has pinpoint location and pitches intelligently. Since he has never had those qualities don’t expect too much from him this year.

his velocity is not up there yet, that was why he was struggling yesterday there is a difference between 88 and 93.

Peterson turned the pitching staff around, last year wwe lead the majors with lowest era for about two thirds of the season.

kazmir will blow his arm out and if he doesnt he will be nothing but a poor man's billy wagner.

I don't even think god could fix Zambrano's willingness to walk hitters, let alone a mere mortal in Rick Peterson.

And a poor man's Billy Wagner is a darned good "worst case scenario" innit?

Dumb trade. Dumb organization. Dumb fans who believe the trade was good for the organization. grr.

So that means that if Kazmir becomes a closer, he will also be overrated garbage.

Please, just use some common sense.

billy wagner is an okay closer but is not as good as some people make him out to be. He is almost like a lefthanded armando.

I'd rather have Wagner closing than Zambrano starting. I'd also rather have Kazmir closing than Zambrano starting. I'd also rather have Kazmir starting than Zambrano starting. Enough said.
