The Times reported both signings... In other news, the Yankees signed Damian Rolls to a minor league contract yesterday, and are close to signing the veteran center fielder Doug Glanville to one. Rolls, 27, played six positions last season, his fifth with Tampa Bay. Glanville, 34, batted .210 in 162 at-bats for Philadelphia last season. |

I also would have preferred Goodwin. He could have also been a defensive replacement for Bernie. Glanville is also fine. I could deal with him as a late inning defensive replacement, if he makes the team. Well if Damian Rolls makes the team, I think he might help the OF problem (in depth) a bit. |

nah, I disagree. I live between philly and NY so I get a lot of Phillies games on the tube too. I've seen him play alot in both tours with the Phils. The numbers dont always show it, but he'ss a decent backup. He;s really good defensively and he can hit just good enough to make him worth it. I think he'll do well in a backup roll for the Bombers |

Mr. Met is cool? He is the dumbest mascot this side of the Philly Phanatic. There is this story that at the start one of the Mets sponsors was Rheingold Beer. Rheingold used to have a contest to vote for Miss Rheingold. Well Miss Rheingold (a really nice piece of a*s) would sit in a box seat with a dog-named Homer. I think that dog was the Mets official dog or something like that. Now I don’t know how true this is but they say the dog took a dump on Mr. Met. |
