Prospect continues turning heads in postseason play
By Mark Feinsand / MLB.com

Robinson Cano's winter wonderland is coming to an end, as he and his Estrellas Del Oriente teammates are close to finishing postseason play in the Dominican League.
Cano is batting .217 (10-for-46) with four doubles, which ranks second in the league, and has a league-leading two triples. Cano ranks third in the league with six extra-base hits, trailing only Miguel Tejada and Eric Byrnes.

Cano has scored five runs in 14 postseason games, as Estrellas Del Oriente is 6-8, three games back of the leaders in the round-robin tournament. Cano drove in two runs, walking seven times while striking out five times.

In 42 regular season games, Cano hit .313 with one homer and 23 RBIs for his Dominican team. Cano doubled 12 times, hit two triples and scored 20 runs.

Cano, who split time between Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Columbus in 2004, was ranked by Baseball America as the Yankees' No. 2 prospect. He was added to the Yankees' 40-man roster for the first time earlier this winter.

Is he a base stealing threat? That would be nice to have at second in a year or two. A fast line-drive hitting second baseman.
