:please: I'll go out on a limb and say Giambi's gonna have a surprisingly good season (considering :smirk: )

I'd be real happy with:

.285 27hr 107rbi .390obp

his career averages are:

.297 34hr 114rbi .411obp

but that includes his early years when he was nothin special. :peace:

That's :sunshine: material.

How the hell is .285 27HR 107RBI overly optimistic? Those are the numbers I expect out of him, maybe a lower average.

How can you expect anything at this point. I expect a .250 average with 20 HRs and 90 RBI.

I don't think he's going to be playing with parasites and a tumour in his head this season! Yes, he's not on steriods anymore, that doesn't mean he's going to turn into a total scrub. .270 25+Hr and close to 100RBI is what he will do if he stays healthy.

I read in Sports Weekly where Javy said no way he ever wants to come back to the AL.    :smirk:

That sucks, because I was kinda hoping he'd be back one day. I like that kid.

Yeah I like him too. Pitching like a soft L the whole second half of the season and serving up a first pitch grand slam that clinched the AL pennant for Boston. How could anybody NOT like Javy?

I'm not saying he did a good job. He was dogshit from the 2nd half on. But I still like the kid, what can I say?

Yes, he was awful during the most important time of the season. And you're hoping that he will come back to the Yankees someday? :no1:

I guarantee that if he ever does come back and we have a different pitching coach (preferably Patterson) he'll be good.

Soft Lesbians can't make it in NY. Mel didn't help any, but Vazquez is just plain gutless. :peace:

He pitched a great game in his Yankee debut, which happened to be Opening Day.

I disagree. I don't think its right to put him in that Weaver "can't cut it in NY" category. I just don't. I think Kaat was right - something was physically wrong with him in the 2nd half last year.

Horrendous is an understatement for how bad a signing Giambi was.

Que Paso con homeboy here?

I think he was hurt too. He was coming over the top on his delivery.

Has to be one of the top 5 WORST signings in Yankee, maybe even sports, history.  I can't really think of words to describe it, so I just put "horrendous."

at the time of the signing, it looked like one of the best Yankee siginings in recent memory. I know I thought it was an excellent deal.

I think people should give him a chance to make things right.....of course, he's not on my team so it's easy for me to say that. Still, he seems like a good guy who truly wanted to be a Yankee.

Some of us thought the contract was AT LEAST 2 years to long. <_<

really? even at the time he signed it?

Being a Mets fan I didnt pay much attention to the deal when it happened, I just remember thiking at the time that the Bombers got themselves a monster. I actually feel sorry for the guy. I'm sure there are other players on the juice, but since he plays for the Yankees, he's going to take the heat more than any of them including Bonds
