After this, if A-Rod fucks up worse this year than he did last season, I'm going to be even more annoying about it then than I am right now (if that's possible). :-|

Wasn't 100% his fault. But he was certainly one of the main problems.

A-Rod is starting to grow on me. I like how he puts blame on himself when things go wrong. I don't mind that he's sort of becoming the team spokesman.

Rodriguez to Schilling: Yankees motivated to `beat him up'

Quote:

NEW YORK (AP) -- Even in the dead of winter, Alex Rodriguez and Curt Schilling are still going at it.

``I just hope he continues to talk about me and my teammates,'' the New York Yankees third baseman said Friday. ``It's going to give us great motivation to beat him up in the future.''

Schilling called it a ``bush-league play'' after Rodriguez was called out for interference in Game 6 of the AL championship series last October. A-Rod, trying to beat out an infield dribbler, slapped the ball away from pitcher Bronson Arroyo near first base.

``To me it was just odd, because I mean we beat him a couple of times during the year and he was crying on the bench,'' Rodriguez said of Schilling. ``And then he lost Game 1 and he wouldn't talk or anything. And obviously, he wins Game 6 and then he's still talking 'till today. So it's just something we as players have been accustomed to. But it's something I'm not worried about.''

Schilling, reached on a cell phone Friday, said Rodriguez had his facts wrong.

``It's not true. I talked after Game 1,'' Schilling said. ``I don't care what Alex says. When someone says that, you consider the source.''

He also denied shedding tears in the dugout.

``I was upset, but I wasn't crying on the bench,'' Schilling said.

Pitching on an ankle tendon held in place by suture, Schilling won Game 6 and Boston then became the first major league team to win a best-of-seven series after trailing 3-0. He then won Game 2 of the World Series, helping Boston sweep St. Louis for its first Series title since 1918.

He wasn't upset by the remarks A-Rod made during a telephone conference call Friday.

``That Alex Rodriguez doesn't like me? Not at all,'' Schilling said.

I of course of to back my boy, Schilling is a complete idiot.

I completely agree with ARod. Every swinging Yankee must make Schilling's life miserable this season. Go ARod. Nothing like a renewal of the rivarly too. If ARod has just one year like he had in Texas, watchout Red Sox.

I'm really anticipating the beginning of the season and the renewal of this rivalry!! The loss to Bastan did take a shot at my Yankee pride and everytime I talk about last year's ALCS I get a sick/nauseating feeling inside me as if somone's transplanted a parasite in me and it only goes away once I stop talking about it !! :puke: I have been disgruntled and irritated all winter long!! :wall: Now it's time for payback Bastan!!! :beating: :minigun: The first verbal shots were thrown by A-Rod to Schilling and here we go all over again w/ Yankees/Sawks!! I'm glad that the loss to Bastan has lit a fire w/in A-Rod this winter to get back at Bastan this year!! If he trains hard and returns to the form that made him great in Texas (that imapact type player he was), Bastan better look out!! I'm glad too that he's took some blame for last year's ALCS debacle against Bastan. Instead of talking smack though what A-Rod should do is go 3-4 w/ a homerun or 4-4 versus Schilling in one of the regular season games versus Bastan and that should shut Schilling up for awhile!! :-X Even though we all know Schilling loves to talk smack he did beat us this past year in the ALCS and has the right to his say what he wants, but I'm glad that A-Rod called him out first and put him in his place!! Now what A-Rod needs to do is just execute against Schilling and Bastan that's all. This year's new anti-Bastan chant will be one and done!!
