the real reason beltran choose the mets instead of any of the other teams that were interested was because of the shorter season, playing in flushing means you have the month of october off every year, unlike in the bronx. :lmao: :lmao: |

I guess that is why he never had interest in the World Champion Redsox. Hey maybe the football Giants should use that as an inducement to get free agents to sign with them next year. If you sign with the Giants you don’t have to play in January. |

Like I was saying to Rob when the Yanks were the main team rumored to be getting Beltran, I didn't like the fact that Beltran was being judged based on his post-season, simply due to the fact that he wasn't facing true quality playoff pitching since the NL wasn't strong starting pitching wise last post-season. I wasn't really convinced much seeing him homer off Jaret Wright(Why did we sign him), a few relievers, and St Louis medicore starting staff. |

the playoffs still pack alot of pressure and he proved he could handle that pressure and hey didn't he face that amazing braves staff with their ace john thomson, man i don't know how beltran or any of the astros hitters did anything against him, he's usually lights out!!! |

LoL. I gotta admit that made me laugh. Thomson pitched 0.1 an inning in that post-season because of injury. But he had a 0.00 ERA, so you, judging purely off stats like that, must think he's Sandy Koufax. |

i'd only call him sandy koufax if he pitched a game or two with that kind of ERA but he didn't, anyway i got my shot in on thomson so i'm happy!!! ;) |

Did you go to a special school or something? I'm not a fan of John Thomson!!!!!!! He's just better than any of the Mets back four. Just to clarify, that ISN"T A COMPLEMENT |

The only reason Beltran even got to pad his post-season numbers last year was because Cox was stupid enough not to use Thomson to start Game 1, 2, and 3. He could have milked that cash cow all the way to a World Series victory |
