Come on, MM. With Bernie at CF, BC is totally justified to be upset. We're an injury away from playing Sierra in the outfield.

Agreed. Bernie needs to be the DH and Giambi needs to be the $20 million dollar pinch hitter.

Even though he won't be ready for the start of the season, try to get Cameron. Mets have no use for him now.

There's a lot of things wrong with Cameron, and the Mets probably are fine with him being a corner OF for them. I'd pass.

As for your first idea, why the hell do you think the Phillies would trade Abreu, coming off a career year, for Soriano, who is going to be a free agent soon? And how the hell do you suppose we'd get Soriano

What's the point of fictitious ideas then? That would just open Pandora's box to spamming. How about I make a thread about trading Giambi for Edmonds, or better yet, Pujols? :D

I'm for that deal!

Getting back to Cameron though. I'm sure the Mets would like to get rid of his salary, and therefore they probably won't get as much for him.

Yeah, that's all we need is a .248 career hitter who strikes out 150 times in our lineup making millions. <_<

Who cares what he f*cking hits? He'll play a great CF and we can bat him 9th.

Some of you are out of your minds, you want f*cking superstars 1-9 in the order! Get real.

YOUR ABSOLUTELY f*cking KIDDING ME!??!?! YOU"D TAKE MIKE CAMERON!!!!! I thought this was a joke. He strikes out 150 times. He doesn't hit for average. He'd kill any rallies.

I don't want superstars, but I want good players. Cameron is a great fielder and a horrible hitter. Add to that, he's only good for power and Yankee Stadium isn't good for right-handed hitters, his power even goes down.

Posada, Tino, Womack, Bernie, and Giambi are 5 players in our current starting lineup that are not superstars. I wish people would stop acting like we have a field full of superstars, because we don't.

Why not. They're losing Cameron's huge 5 million $$$salary, .231 average and 143Ks (replacing him with Diaz) and strengthening their shaky bullpen with a work horse who when healthy had proven to be good (especially in the weak NL: check his numbers in LA. they're great! ;) ).

:please: our defense up the middle sucks.

we have enough offense to carry him batting 8th or 9th.

We lost to the Red Sox because we couldn't get timely hits, not because of our defense. Cameron would strand runners like crazy. Next idea please.

We also lost becuase of our shaky pitching, which certainly didn't benefit from Bernie in CF. :peace:

I don't even know why there's a discussion. Mike Cameron would make me break my hand. This offense already has me punching walls with all the stranded runners and the joke ABs with runners in scoring position (we're trailing by one, leadoff double and the inning ends with him still at 2B). Mike Cameron and his STUPID pitch selection, I'd swing a little too hard after one of his screw-ups. Also, his fielding wasn't that good last year. I don't know how many errors he made but its more than he should have. The range didn't look exceptional either. I watch enough Mets games to know this. But as I said about Stanton, ask a Mets fan. I don't want Mike Cameron. Nobody here want Mike Cameron. You think you do, but you don't. There has to be a better option than him.

I wouldn't call Jeter a superstar. He's paid like one, but his numbers don't indicate it (la-la-la, intangibles). He's more of a superstar because his name is big. I don't think Matsui is a superstar either. He's an All Star and plays like it, but he's not elite.

I disagree. Jeter might be the best player in the game. He's a superstar.

Best player in the game? He's not the best player on his team. He hasn't been since 2000. And that's including the intangibles.

Do I have to go into detail to tell you that you're wrong?

I didn't think that would be a popular opinion Strider, but I said it anyway. The guy is great. A true Yankee. An incredible knack for the big moment.

No doubt that he is not statistically. It's the INTANGIBLES Strider!

Strider would still take A-Rod over Jeter. :no1:

Getting back on the Cameron issue, I'd rather have Winn than him.
