Too bad that Beltran rejedted The Yankees offer,But He could've been a great fit for The Yankees in the Outfield. The only reason Beltran joined The Mets was because of Minaya, and Minaya likes to sign all of The Hispanic players in all of Baseball. f*ck Minaya! |

 King, clean the sh!t out of your eyes. The Yanks never made an offer, so the Muts were his only choice. He could have stayed in Houston for less, but took the best offer. Good move by the Muts, if they can get a bullpen maybe we can see a subway series next year. |

He went where the money was. They all do. Boras' clients take the top offer no matter where it is from. |

Like I said along, he would be a Yankee ( the only problem is the Yanks didn't want to pay for him, even at a discount) |

LT, none of that is true. Boras tried to get the Yankes involved to drive up the price, not to sign a deal. If that were true, he would've waited for the Yankees to wake up sunday morning. Believe it if you want but its out of context |

Beltran went where the most money was. Period. If the Yankees offered more than the Muets he would have went there. |

It appears that Beltran wanted to come to the Yanks for less, but they just weren't interested. |

Because it was still alot of money. The NY Post said this:
Bottom line, the Yanks are already spending about as much as they take in. Beltran might have been nice, but not worth taking a loss. He just wasn't necessary. |

the yankees never stop spending money, if they could have got him for 6 years/100 million they would have signed him so i don't believe it, like MM said, boras clients always go to the highest bidder!!! |

It doesn't matter whether Beltran wanted to be here or not. The fact remains we don't have him and will have to watch Bernie and his atrocius defense for another year. |

This once again shows that "most" cats would want to sport those pinstripes, even for less money. :agent: Anyway, I'm glad George didn't go mad and put up another big contract. It's a shame, Beltran is probably going to be a nice player for many years to come, but big contracts like Giambi and Pool boy f*ck up our ability to take on more big contracts. Bottom line is this, we didn't need him. All we need in CF is defense, not a big bat and that can wait for Pierre if it has to. Anyway, still SHOCKED George didn't ante up, especially with the discount, but it was indeed the right thing to do. |
