With Beltran whoring himself to the highest bidder the Yanks are left with Bernie, Matsui, Sheff and Sierra in the OF with no other option. A 200 million dollar team should not neglect something like this. FECKING Bernie will drive me up the wall next year. |

I don't think we're done with the OF situation. Cash will use his Baskin Robbins gift card and find someone. :-| |

We're maxed out in roster space. We're going with a 12 man staff and we currently have no backup INF. There isn't any room for a 5th OF. FECKING Giambi is the reason we're not getting Beltran. I'm booing that mother effer so loud his ears will bleed. |

Sheff was an upgrade in RF, I'd like to see Matsui moved to CF & then the Yanks could make a move for a new LF. :dunno: |

I don't know how many Mets games you guys watched last year, but Mike Stanton is garbage. He's just as bad as Heredia. Him and Franco were guaranteed blown leads. God forbid there was a runner at 1st when he came in. He wishes he gave up as few inherrited runs as Quantrill. Ask a Mets fan. If it means cutting him (how much could he make?) to free up a spot, I'd do it. |

This is disgusting. I can't believe George didn't step in and sign Beltran. He'd have fit so friggin perfectly. The scumbag Mets and their fans don't deserve such a player. I thought more of Beltran, but I guess when you have a scum agent like Boras, you'll wh*re yourself. |

He's not gonna be in the same role he was in with the Muets. He was pretty much the main setup guy. |

Stanton was pitching to both lefties and righties last year. He'll only face lefties because we have others to get righties out. |

That doesn't matter, he will only be facing lefties. Once the 8th rolls around Tom Gordon is pitching, it does matter if there's a lefty, righty, or an octopus batting, Gordon pitches the 8th. Stanton will be the guy who comes in to face a lefty or 2 in the 6th or 7th inning. He's not going to be pitching an inning and 2/3 like he was with the Muets! He's not going to be the setup guy here. |

All you had to do was look it up, Lefties hit .269 off your boy last year. Righties .219 Gordons arm is gonna fall off |

Fantastic. Worry about how Heredia and friends are going to get Pedro and the Muets from the 6th to Looper. I can't wait to see that. The Yankees have more than enough bullpen arms, Stanton is not going to pitch 77 f*cking innings like he did with the Muets. Art Howe throws a 36 year old pitcher out there for 2 innings a game and then wondered why he sucked. Brilliant. |

Torre better stop babying starters and let them pitch some complete games. |

RJ always goes deep into games. We all know about Mussina and Brown, but we don't really know how far Pavano and Wright can go without f*cking up. |

Torre will be pulling RJ in the 7th and 8th in games RJ would normally finish with ease. Guaranteed. Guys like Clemens came here as guys that could pitch a ton of CGs, but Torre would never let them. |

Clemens always lost it at the end of games when he was a Yankee. And when he let Mussina go in the 9th, he always gave up a leadoff double or something. |

Wright only averaged like 6 innings a start. <_< Pavano and RJ should go into the 8th on good days. Moose will give us his usual 7 innings and Brown usually went into the 7th. I don't see a big problem other than Wright. |

It's not as simple as that. Torre's been guilty of babying. Before Clemens came here, he had thrown 6, 9, and 5 CGs in the previous 3 seasons. He threw a total of 3 CGs while he was with us in 5 years. Mussina threw about 4 CGs a year with Baltimore before coming here, his final year throwing 6. He's averaged about 2 CGs a year here. |

When Mussina went deep into the game, the score was usually close, so Joe couldn't give him much of a leash. |

Why would you leave a tired, old, fat Clemens in the game when you have Mariano Rivera!? Come on, please. Clemens would always lose it towards the end of games, ALWAYS. He was old! What do you want? |

The point is I don't want an overused pen again, especially guys like Gordon and Rivera this year. It's not like our bullpen has had a bunch of guys that could do the job over the years. We've only had 2 or 3 guys per year, but Torre would overuse them. I'd rather let the starter go an inning more and in certain cases, finish the game./ |
