1st half recap, manning is playing well, lots of drops ob account of the cold, defense is playing decently except for walker who is having a horrible day and one missed tackle by allen that led to a td. tiki is having a very nice day, o line is protecting well. |

The smile of the San Diego front office people just got wider. That draft pick keeps on going higher and higher. That cushy job that San Diego must have offered Accorsi in San Diego after he retires from the Giants job, leaving the franchise in shambles, gets better and better. Don’t worry with the two dinosaurs Ernie and Willingham guiding the future of this franchise may be we will stay healthy and go eight and eight next year. Wouldn’t that be great? The New York papers now criticize the Manning trade but they blame the Giants not Ernie Accorsi. The press was harder on Steve Phillips with the Mets and he got them to a World Series and that equals Ernie boy getting the Giants to a Super Bowl. But Ernie boy never takes the heat. The bathroom must smell sweet after he goes there. Even if Manning is looking better and will be as good a quarterback as that rookie in Pittsburgh look at what we gave up to get him. So we take the loss because it limits the Giants ability to build a good team in the near future. But then again with Ernie and Wellingham selecting the players maybe those draft picks and extra room under the salary cap would have been wasted anyway. |

i disagreed with the trade but i changed my mind after seeing eli play eli is the real deal, he played good today, he made all the right decisions a few times he overthrew or underthrew the ball but that might be playing in the cold for the first time, but he is learning. The interception wasnt his fault the lineman just got his hand across, he wasnt even in front of eli. SD gets a big play reciever with the pick, but so what, we got a franchise qb for the next 12 years. |

That guy in Pittsburgh is a franchise qb. We could have had him and the extra talent. This ain't Basketball it takes more then one guy to win a Super Bowl. |

gate, put Roethlisberger on this team and hes having the same problems. We dont have the 4th ranked defense, and we dont run effectively 35 times a game |

We don't have Hines Ward, Plexiglass Burress, or Antwaan Randle El. We won't rush for 2,000 yards. Roethlisberger has performed better than Manning (individual performance) in terms of capitalizing on opportunities and making better throws, but he's got a great team around him. If he were here, this team still wouldn't be winning. Ben has been bailed out by his defense and running game in a few starts where based on his performance, he deserved to lose. Eli doesn't get that wiggle room. But Gate, I do see what you mean about the draft picks. No dropoff has been seen so far between the 1st and 11th pick so we could have just gone with him. Still, its 6 starts into his career. We won't be able to make real judgement until 2-3 years from now. And that's IF this organization somehow builds a good team. |

I agree the problem is not Manning and the guy in Pittsburgh would have looked bad with the Giants. But, we need the draft picks and the salary cap room to build a team around the qb. We lost that in the trade. Put Peyton Manning on the Giants and we still go no where. We have to many holes and injury prone players. |
