Motor City Madman? Is Nugent a kicker? I haven't followed college ball or the scouting web sites much this year. PK is a problem for us and has been for like 4 years but I think a 3rd rounder is too high to spend on a kicker. If you've got a bunch of multi picks in the round or if you've got a team with no-few holes or if you've got a first rounder, then yes. But our #3 is basically our #2 and kicker isn't a big enough need (because of the position) to go that high. I'd rather look for a veteran free agent (but not so old that his kickoffs come down at the 25 yard line). A kicker ain't gonna make more than $800K anyway. The Bucs released Martin Gramatica a few weeks ago and the Colts are using him just for kickoffs. He's struggled this year but the guy has been a Pro Bowler and I think he's still in his 20s. Maybe he's our man. |

I hope that Gramatica will become The Giants kicker next year. |

ya strider i kinda agree with you, i was just curious because this guy is good here is a scouting analysis from nfldraftcountdown.com: strengths: very experienced having started four years for the buckeyes....Has a strong leg for attempts 50+ yards and beyond.....has the nerve to make big clutch kicks.....consistent and will go on long streaks without missing....can also kickoff. weaknesses: Doesnt have great size but there are many kickers with slight frames.....can still fine tune his mechanics and technique. notes: elite kicking prospect with day one potentiol....actually a bettter prospect then nate kaeding, who was an early 3rd rounder in 2004....was amzing as a senior and really improved his stock he sounds really good but again like strider said we dont have enough picks to pick a kicker, especially with all our holes some of these guys will be immediate backups next year |

this site had us picking adam terry, in the 3rd round and this guy soundss pretty good as well  a lt who is stronger at pass blocking then run blocking, ofcourse i would much rather sign someone good to play lt, especially because it is such a difficult position to play in the nfl and it would be tough for a rookie to start. |

The projections are usually way off in the later rounds. Plus, if the guy is any good, he'll make a move towards first round status come the combines. |

Nugent is the best kicker in the draft, but we have other problems |
