Is the NFL better off with more teams utilizing a West Coast Offense nowadays as opposed to the old Run-N-Gun offenses? |

Ofcourse its better now. Do you wanna see ugly numbers? Handoff, handoff, chuck. That's why mo'f*ckers had 50% completions and threw a ton of picks. That whole style is what prevents Namath from being exposed as the most overrated QB in history (he is but Jets fans always use the Run & Gun as an excuse for his awful stats). I like offense. I like seeing it run efficiently and like a machine. I love high completion percentages and although I love runningbacks, I like the passing game. If the NFL was still doing that sh*t, it would be primitive (although "primitive" is relative and if everyone was doing it there's no point of comparison). Do you like the Redskins offense? All that run-run-run sh*t is dead and it makes for ugly football. Even Parcells is with it. Had it not been for the WCO, the Colts wouldn't be doing what they're doing now. The Rams wouldn't have done what they did. And if you look around the NFL, the best offenses are running the WCO. Not one person here should chose Run & Gun. f*ck that smashmouth nonsense. :please: |

The run and gun offense is flawed. It only works if you have 2 great lineman, 2 pro bowl WR's, a flat back and someone else to split the seam. Otherwise NFL teams can eat it for breakfast. It doesnt protect the QB at all, cant do that against todays defenses, any coincidence the great Saints are 4-7? The Skins did sh*t with Spurrier |

I agree, the West Coast Offense is designed to not only have a more productive offense, but protect your QB!!! With WC you have guys in the backfield protecting your QB instead of everyone going deep. Some people might argue that the deep ball is more fun to see, but I would take the WC anyday!!! |
