Are you guys watching the game? You see my man going to work? Doug, I told you he'd be good. I said that if he stayed healthy and starts, he'd be good for 1,200 yards. I told you guys he was a sleeper in the draft. I thought he'd go 4th round though.

Why did I like Julius Jones?
- Notre Dame games are shown on NBC so I got the chance to see him a lot.
- He has good speed for a back his size and great acceleration.
- Along with his great burst, he has good vision. He spots that hole quickly and hits it at full speed.
- He can catch the ball and he's a good pass blocker.
- He's a muscular 225 lbs. He has the size to take the pounding and can be a workhorse.
- Some network was doing a feature on him and he told his story. He was kicked out because of academic problems. He said that he spent the time working out and decided to get his life together. He busted his ass to get back to where he was and when he did, he took advantage of the opportunity. That tells me he's a grinder. You like to see guys with the spotless record and perfect everything, but sometimes overcoming something is good. It shows you character and will. He could have f*cked around and said to himself, "I've got a big brother in the NFL. I can afford to screw around because Tom is making millions." The Marcus Vick attitude. He got it together and did his thing.

Add all that up and it = a quality NFL running back.

His problem has always been inconsistency and health. He was a top pick in the draft and he's talented but he'll have bad stretches and then he'll start lighting it up and then he'll get injured. In Arizona he started off well and got hurt. Then they brought in Michael Pittman and made the two of them plattoon for a couple years. Then he got his job back and got off to a great start, then he gets hurt. In Tampa last year, he's Pittman's backup. He gets his chance to start late in the season and lights it up. For whatever reason, Gruden doesn't bring him back. He signs with Chicago this year, gets off to a great start, then gets hurt. Now he's back and has been "ehhh". I'd say that he's above average talent but because of injuries, average production.

the announcers were actually saying he got stronger as the game went on, and I agreed with them.

PS1 can't count that high. In Madden or the Triple Play games, whenever your stats were too good, the game would just freeze up. Sometimes in the 3rd quarter, late in the season, my QB would have 5 TDs in the first half and for the rest of the game you couldn't control the QB. He would just take the snap and stand there until he takes the sack. You put P-Money's stats in there, it would overload.
