I dont care whether it would've been 1st or 32nd, the Chargers can have it. Accorsi did what he had to do to get a franchise QB. Manning played an outstanding game under the shadow of a few different things. -Pocket Pressure -8 Dropped Passes -Ineffective Running Game -14-0 before he knew what was goin on He made throws that Warner couldnt make, he scrambled and avoided pressure, he got sacked once by my count and didnt make a stupid throw for the entire game. The 1st INT was a good play by Webster, also he was just trying to make a play given the time left. The 2nd pick Warner probably would've thrown too. He's an arm, mobility, smarts and accuracy. I said on Draft day that "we stole Eli Manning". I stand by that. Everything went against him today and he played f*cking great. He is going to be great. The defense and the recievers lost the game in the 1st half |

i wasnt a fan of getting him bbecause he really didnt impress me in college and i thought we gave up too much, but boy was i wrong. He was ten times better then i expected especially in the second half when he got his feet wet, and felt the speed of the game. we lost the game but im happy as f*ck this guy is the real deal and he has chemistry with shockey which is important. Remember he is only gonna get better |

Eli was really impressive today. I was also behind the trade and thought it was the right move, and I stand by that. |

Same. I laughed at the people bitching about giving up the first rounder. He was very poised out there and made the right decisions, even down 14-0. Even though he threw 20 incompletions, no one can put the loss on his shoulders. He's only going to get better. We have a star in New York. |

That was my point. You can't put the loss on his shoulders. |

I watched three of his college games (one in 2002 and two last year) and he didn't impress me. He didn't show a strong arm (floated all of his deep balls and didn't put zip on balls over the middle) and looked to have inconsistent accuracy. I had liked Philip Rivers but since everyone, including the "experts", was sucking Eli's dick + the fact that he'd have his brother to mentor him and go over film, I hopped the bandwagon. I supported the trade, but I was upset at the situation. I figured that we gave up more than we should have had to. I would have still done it and I would have probably given up more if they asked for it, but I said, "Dammit. He said that he wouldn't play for them. Their backs are to the walls, why is it looking like we are under pressure?" He showed some positives today. He made a couple smart plays and did a good job getting out of the pocket. The flip pass to Tiki was very good. But, he did make his mistakes. The second interception, Brady Smith (who I started this week in fantasy league) was already in the coverage when he went to throw it. On the replay, you'll see to his right that he had a receiver in single coverage (can't tell who it was) and Finn wide open underneath. He had enough time to look for it. He also made some bad throws, overthrowing guys. Overall, I'd give him a "B" for the game. For whatever reason, the Falcons weren't coming on the blitz. It was mostly 4 rushing and the line did a good job. <- Better not get used to that, the Eagles will be coming. He did a good job of stepping up into the pocket when the rush got through from the edge and outside of 2 times, he didn't hold the ball too long. His numbers should have been better than they were. If Amani Toomer and Jeremy Shockey weren't looking like Omar Stoutmire, we would have atleast gotten a field goal in the first half. |

I'll look at it again tommorow, but it looked like the type of INT's alot of QB's would throw. They brought 2 from the right and he threw a hot read to the left, I'll tommorow (they showed endzone angle) on pre-sanp if theres reason to think they're sliding coverage to the blitz side I wont blame him. I put good money that Warner either throws the same pass or gets sacked on that though. Also I was really surprised they didnt blitz that much. He handled it when they did |

they havent blitzed much i was looking at a website before its a geocitie site so i dunno how reliable it is but anyway some guy was keeping track about the amount of times a team brings more then 4 rushers and the falcons were in 21st place. |

Warner would've gotten sacked on a few plays that Manning avoided the blitz. |

They get a lot of pressure from the d-line. That's why I picked Brady Smith up this week (that and the fact that he was going against Pettitgout). Kerney has 8 or 9 sacks, Smith has 4, and Rod Coleman has either 6 or 8 from the DT position. On that INT, I think it was Toomer who was running a post. If its Warner, he sees Smith out there, double-clutches and holds it waiting for Toomer to hit his break, and by then the pressure from the right comes and he's sacked. |
