while i am a jets fan, i happen to have vast social relationships with fans of the giants franchise. i hold great respect for both teams and their fans, so i do not wish to insight any ill feeling with what i am about to say. observing the first two quarters of the giant-falcons game, i noticed a quite a few factors that i wished to address with giant fans. firstly, i believe the giants have a nice young talent in eli manning. he seems incredibly intelligent like his brother and capable of improvision. i expect him to has his faulters, but he's certainly held his own against a good defense. secondly, i hold the belief that the giants franchise does not possess a quality receiver that can be relied on every down. for instance, i would be hard pressed to find a team's high-priced number one receiver like amani toomer that drops such a vast number of passes. as well, ike hilliard does not appear to be a very useful receiver aside from short yardage plays, who appears prone to the fumble. hence, this franchise is left with the problem of two receivers that should hold a high level of reliability appearing to have a number of weaknesses. as well, jeremy shockey, who is billed as a receiver, has dropped more passes than any other tight end i have ever observed |

Mike, you sound like a politician. All them big words is making my brain hurt. :wtf: You're right, we don't have a true #1 receiver. On a good team, Amani Toomer is a Z and on an even better offense, he's the slot. Dropping passes is not even his greatest flaw, he struggles to get open, even in single coverage. I think he's locked into a big contract and won't be going anywhere. With that being the situation, you need a speedster with gamebreaking ability who can create separation and get open quickly to compliment him. I've complained about that for years. This organization has refused to address that, I guess feeling that Ike Hilliard meets the criteria. We don't need Marvin Harrison or Randy Moss, just a Donte Stallworth type who can make plays. Watching this offense sometimes is sickening. We also need our overrated TE to start CATCHING the ball. He dropped a ton of passes as a rookie, but we forgave him because he made big catches downfield and ran people over. He dropped a ton of passes last season, but we overlooked it because the team had a myriad of problems. This year, his third NFL season, he's dropping balls while unknown tight ends throughout the league are putting up huge numbers. I'm tired of saying, "He needs to get his sh*t together." Maybe he's just not sure-handed, like Koren Robinson. |
