Reyes has decided to play winter ball even though he might be better off continuing to work on his hamstring problems. The Mets don't seem especially concerned one way or the other.

he better be injury free next season!!! <_<

he should be working with the clinic on trying to fix the problem instead of playing this winter.

Yeah, here's the line from the Post.

Greenberg also said Jose Reyes is likely to start winter ball in December, though he said that sports performance manager Mackie Shilstone, who put Reyes on a fitness program, believes Reyes is still at risk to play. Reyes probably will see Shilstone again but he is eager to get on the field anyway.

So what the f*ck is he doing playing!?!?

Minaya should fly over there and drag him off the field.

Agreed !

In the article I read the other day, the clinic he went to (that specializes in curing these injuries) said he needed to complete their full program first, before playing. If he didn't, he would be liable to have these problems for the rest of his career!

I don't understand why Met's management is jeopardising one of their best young players by letting him play when there is this huge risk! :annoyed:

It wasn't the Met's team doctor. It was the head of this clinic and all they do is cure professional athletes with hamstring and similar problems . Apparently they are very successful at it, too. I'm surprised the Mets and Reyes are disregarding their strong advise. Even if they want to trade him, he needs to be healthy...

Watch, I bet he gets hurt in Winter League. The Mets are better off trading him now. Maybe for Sosa. He's NEVER gonna be healthy. Bring in the Dominican Daddy. You'd see all the Dominicans come back out with their painted windows from '98. "El Sosa es tambien!" and keeping track of his homerun total on the windshield. Ya'll are some funny people, Justin.

As if... :please:

I wasn't being serious. And, you might actually be better off doing that. Reyes will never play 2 straight weeks.
