By the way, if I understand waivers, Boston would have a chance to claim Wells before the Yanks, no? Why didn't they?

By the way, if I understand waivers, Boston would have a chance to claim Wells before the Yanks, no? Why didn't they?

Apparently they didn't. Thing is if no one claims him, then the Pads can trade him anywhere, so the Yankees weren't taking that chance.

THx Vin..Very rarely do I drop inside info..and I would make this sh!t up...I think this sauce is a local BB writer or a guy who works in the MLB PR Department...

ok, well would the fact that Boston already blocked and claimed a player off waivers have any bearing, MM? :dunno:

Boston must have put a claim in. Its a no-brainer. He doesn't make alot of money, a postseason performer - no way they didn't.

I believe that multiple teams can make claims, and then it is determined who gets priority.
