I'd actually watch that. If for nothing else, but just to see how badly broken a Puerto Rican PG's ankle would be after HOT SAUCE (better than Jordan) shake 'n bakes him like yo mama's chicken! WOOOOOOOOOOOO, nothing more American than baseball, apple pie, and hot sauce. The Proffessor (WHITE HOT SAUCE) would be embarassing them "non-Americans". I'm 1/2 joking there, but I do think I'd watch. Nobody will ever agree with me, but I've said for years that And1 is more entertaining than the NBA. |

I love the And1 guys, but they are half of what's wrong with our countries game right now. I think we glorify that stuff too much and kids want to be like that. |

Agreed. All the NBA players care about are the slam dunks and the crazy circus shots. |

The kids should wanna be like that. Entertain me dammit! I'm sorry, but I'd rather see a 360 between the legs overhead lob from half court than a standard bounce pass. Fundamentals is for competitive games. But unless its my team playing, I don't care about competition. I wanna say "Ohhh!". To hell with Tim Duncan, the kids should idolize Hot Sauce and and AO. Vin, if your kid plays basketball when he gets older, teach him right. btw - When Jason Kidd or Magic Johnson pulled out the tricks, how come nobody complained and calls for fundamentals. We all loved Maravich. |

That's what basketball is about! Throw downs and ankle breakers. I can't watch a Sonics vs. Hawks game. Unless there's a rooting interest, its boring. I need the highlight reel stuff to make basketball entertaining. I know its hurting the U.S. team over in Greece, but I don't think that's the only problem. This isn't a cohesive unit. Its 3rd level All Stars and its as if the team was just chosen by looking at the points per game league leaders. There isn't a defensive stopper, a true center (Shaq didn't go), or a consistent shooter (Ray Allen turned it down for fear of terrorism and Dirk shitted on the league that pays him). We have a bunch of highlight reel tweeners out there. Shawn Marion for example. Lamar Odom is another tweener. Though versatile, too big to be a SF, too small to be a true PF. What do you need them on the team for, when you've got LeBron and Carmelo? Hell, why bring LeBron when you've got Carmelo? They should have picked up a pure shooter. Doesn't have to be a 20 ppg scorer, but someone who fits in better with the team. Although I'm glad that Marbury is over there, why do they need him when he's Iverson w/ a better shooting percentage? Should have chosen a lockdown perimeter defender. The foreign teams are all shooters and we have too many guys who can't play defense. You have guys like Iverson, Melo, LeBron, Jefferson, and Marbury who are all inconsistent shooters and who are all just as capalbe of going 10-22 as they are 3-14. In the exhibition, Germany was playing zone all day and we were just jacking up threes. When you have a squad where the best shooter is Steph, who I'm sure his FG percentage from outside of the paint is in the 30's and you're jacking up 3's all game, most of the time its not gonna work. We got lucky. I think that's the problem with the team, more so than lack of fundamentals. Its not really a "team", but stars tossed in together and 3rd tier stars at that. |
