Hopefully you people stop bitching now.

These people won't stop bitching, even if the Yankees win the World Series in 4 games.

It's kind of a shame though, A-Rod deserved to get at least one game taken off the suspension. Who knows why it takes so long for players to get hearings, especially a player who plays in the same city as the MLB offices are located.

From listening to Torre this afternoon with Sterling, A-Rod is REALLY sick. :no1:

He's not even at the ballpark.

Why is EVERYONE getting sick with non-baseball related injuries!? The parasites, pink eye, the flu. This is ridiculous!

It probably takes time, I don't think he could have called 5 minutes before the game and done it.

Yeh, but he had to know he was sick when he first woke up. He coulda got it done. Your excuse for aRod is akin to the dog ate my homework :serious: ... what, did he just suddenly develop the flu 5 minutes before gametime, Rob???

Well at least this is now out of the way. It's ridiculous to begin with though. I don't think A-Rod deserved more than 1 game anyway. Boston started sh*t, as usual, and all A-Rod did was defend himself.

Well according to reports he started feeling sick when they got to the ballpark, but was going to play. Then he started feeling really sick on the elevator at the ballpark and told Joe he couldn't play.

What does he missing an extra day matter? The Yankees are the NL East Champs, and they are going to the playoffs. Why are people bitching about this so much?

So he missed 1 extra game against the Mariners, so what? Explain what the big deal is? The Yankees won that extra game 10-3 without him, BTW!

The big deal is the upcoming game against Baltimore that he wouldn't have to have missed (he would have missed the Seattle game either way. think about it, Rob)..... This reminds me of the Yanks not offering Clemens arbitration and missing out on the draft pick. Just plain sloppy, IMO. Use your heads, Yankees!

You're kidding, right YB? The guy hadn't missed a game all year, in fact it was only the 2nd game he missed in almost 4 years, but you're bellyaching about him not dropping his appeal in time? Like Rob said, he was planning on playing, and then Joe was going to have him available to pinch hit until he felt way too shitty, and the Yankees sent him back to the hotel to rest. Do you think they can call the MLB offices at between 9 and 10pm EST and drop the appeal at the last second? Somehow I doubt that.

Now that you explained the circumstances more explicitly, I see that you and Rob are right. I assumed he was much sicker all day since apparently he is very sick now. My bad. :bag:
