Game Note: A huge brawl broke out during this game. The ugliness actually started before the game as Norfolk Manager John Stearns got into it with the Toledo manager for changing his starting pitcher right before the game. At 4-0 Esix Snead moved to thirdbase on a two base throwing error. Toledo players then started jawing at Snead who earlier in the game had stole home. The umpire then called time as Snead started walking towards the Toledo dugout. Toledo starting pitcher Burnside then got involved with Snead and looked as if he was going to punch him when everything broke out. Pat Strange also got seriously involved with Toledo relief pitcher Craig Dingman during the brawl.

Bowman, Andy Wilson and coach Dave Hollins all received three game suspensions from their role in the twice benches clearing brawl against Augusta on July 28th.

it sounds like we got some tough players coming up, who won't take sh*t from anyone. that was two different instances of fights that i posted.

Shawn Bowman, Yusmeiro Petit and Lastings Milledge all raked home honors in the 2004 Baseball America's "Best Tools" awards. Bowman was voted Best Infield Arm and Best Defensive Third baseman prospect. Petit brought home honors for Best Control while Milledge was tabbed as Best Outfield Arm.

also i am very impressed by shawn bowman. he didn't hit when the mets first signed him but this year he has been a great hitter and i didn't know he was so good defensively.

Spur of the moment type of thing in that AAA game. Besides, its not like Esix Snead is that hot of a prospect anyway
