I was disgusted-but definitely NOT surprised- with what Roger the rat did, and even more sickened by Pettitte because he came up through this organization and the Yankees made him who he is and he basically spit on that. I wouldn't mind having either of them on the pitching staff we currently have, but I would not be heartbroken at all if these two never stepped foot inside Yankee Stadium again. I certainly don't want to see them at Old Timer's Day someday. |

No Thanks YF03 ! Pettite's got real arm problems. He's lost a lot off his fastball. The last thing we need is another weak sister like Mussina, grooving 86mph fastballs ! Clemens on an encore? Yes ! ;) |

Well, yeah, with the injury I certainly wouldn't want Pettitte now either. But if he had resigned with us I don't know if he'd have hurt himself as badly as he did because he wouldn't have had to bat in the AL. I'd take Clemens next year. Reluctantly of course, but if it comes down to brining in Pedro or maybe bringing Clemens back for encore, I'll take Clemens, he's the lesser of the two evils. At least he doesn't talk sh*t about the great Babe Ruth. |

It would be cool if the Yankees presented Pett w/ his ALCS ring during game 1 of this years playoffs, but that doesn't seem likely. As for Clemens, i feel that he walked out on us, so fuk him. He said he was retiring, had his little farewell tour & took all those standing O's. IMO, the Pettitte situation was different because the Yanks could have made a move to sign Pettitte before the 2003 season & chose not to, which in hind site seems to be a smart move. I for one wish Pet was still a Yankee. |

Again, agreed. I also don't think Pettitte's problems would have been as serious here since the original injury happened while batting. While I agree with you on Clemens "retirement" and farewell tour being a bullsh*t move and even though I was never a diehard Clemens fan, if he wants to pitch for the Yankees next year at a reasonable salary ($5 million or less), I would take him back for a year. Part of me wouldn't want him since I don't like his self-serving crap and I would worry he'd go downhill as a Yankee (like he did in 1999 after being great on Toronto), but part of me thinks they need someone like him leading the staff again. I found Clemens to be more important as an ace in the post-Cone/post days, including the year Cone didn't really show up as the real Cone (2000). At the time of the trade, it was completely unnecessary, but with Pettitte, Clemens, and Wells all leaving this past offseason, and Mussina struggling before getting injured, this staff could really have used another year of Clemens. I actually wanted him to stay and thought it was ridiculous to retire when he could still pitch. I thought he'd retire and then the Yankees would entice him to come back after the All Star Break. |

Yes, at the last second. I wish he pulled a Bernie and took it, but he had already made up his mind. He could have been signed before last year or earlier in this past free agency period. |

I understand the animosity towards Clemens, but I really don't understand the people that suddenly hate pettitte. He did so much for the Yankees and was a key part of every WS team. You can't expect every great player from those teams to stay yankees for life. |

He turned his back on the team that he pitched with for his whole career. I'm glad he and his boyfriend losing in the city of losers. |

I don't hate them, I certainly don't hope that Pettitte gets hurt and can't pitch. I hope they lose every game, but I don't want him hurt. To tell you the truth, I don't follow there records. I just like the fact that they won't be in the playoffs after a much hyped pre-season. |
