Good signing. Holik can now go where he belongs...on the third line. And Lundmark/Moore can center the 2nd line! |

Nylander was signed to appease Jagr and give him a linemate he can play with. The lines look more and more like they'll be: Lundmark-Nylander-Jagr Wiseman-Moore-Balej Giroux-Holik-Ortmeyer Murray-Betts-M.Green That's going to add up to a whole lot of Ls. But hey, at least they'll be trying to win! |

There's also rumors that the Rangers are about to resign Hlavac. I'm not a big fan of him by any stretch, but if we're giving all the kids chance, I guess I see no reason why to not let him try to be his old 29 year old self. We can stick him on the second line. The problem is that would hurt Wiseman's chances of making the team. |

Wiseman did not show me too much though neither did Hlavac. I would rather see the Rangers try to resign Rucinsky than Hlavac. |

I've heard rumors that the Rangers are trying to bring back Rucinsky, but I've also heard that Rucinsky can't stand Glen Sather. Glen Sather is one of the reasons FAs have stayed away from NY. I'd take Rucinsky over Hlavac in a heartbeat. Rucinsky led the team in +/-, was our best PKer, produced offensively, and was one of the few that put forth a sincere effort every night. He'd fit in nicely to the rebuilding process, but I don't see it happening. As for your comment about Wiseman, did you watch the AHL playoffs? Wiseman has a lot more skill than he is given credit for. He is a much better package of skill AND grit than Hlavac is and he plays the LW, where we are noticeable lacking. He should be given every chance to crack the team in training camp. And though I'm against the Hlavac signing, it must be said that his play took a 180 degree turn after Nedved, Kovalev and other underachievers were traded. After the firesale, he was a completely different player. Hustling, making things happen, etc.He has shown in the past to have 29 goal potential and he is cheap. He'd be a LW depth move and if he doesn't perform, we can just cut him anyway. |

I got a chance to see a few of the Hartford games when they lost to the pens. I agree with you he has the grit that it takes to compete in the NHL but his overall pure skill or talent seems to be low. If he can be anything of a Jed Ortemeyer type I am all for him. We'll just wait and see if he can hack it. |

I pointed you to the AHL playoffs because Wiseman there was most definitely the second most talented offensive player playing for Hartford in that series. Balej was the most talented. Wiseman has good touch around the net and can stickhandle pretty well. Not to mention he has grit. He ought to be given a serious look next year to see if his AHL success can translate into NHL success. |

It'd be a dream to get Ruca. He's the perfect fit for this young team. He's proven he can handle NY pressure. But Sather has apparently not shown interest in him. Rucinsky said that it's either NY or Europe for him next year. And don't worry about Hlavac. He'd just be a low risk move. We need LWers in the worst way. |
