Came into this season with 25th all time career OPS: Baseball reference Dropped it to .939 this year. Still very impressive. |

MLB.com has him at 23 currently. (Baseball reference only requires 3000 PA, while MLB requires 5000 ABs.) |

Edgar probably cost us a title in 95. He was a hitting machine. Awesome hitter for a very un-athletic guy. Big ups to Edgar! |

Edgar is a Hall of Famer. If Muet fans had to face this guy all those time they'd say the same thing. At one point Edgar was 9-11 off Mariano Rivera. |

He's not a Hall of Famer. Good hitter (GREAT against the Yankees <_< ), but his numbers do not overwhelm you, and he's a DH. |

He'll go in cause he's a DH. The writers want that. |

.312 hitter, 305 HR, 1244 RBI, .420 OBP. I think that if he does go in, it won't be first ballot, because he was a DH. |

Edgar does not belong in the hall . No way . He was a very good professional hitter , But there are plenty of guys from his era that had much better numbers offensively AND had to play 150 + games in the field . Someday a DH will get in the hall , but Edgar is not the one . I think that for career DH to get in , based on the fact that they do not contibute defensively , their offensive numbers need to be overwhelming . Edgar was very good , but not overwhelming by any stretch . |
