1. Switch Kaz Matsui from SS to 2b. Switch Reyes from 2b to SS. 2. Fire Art Howe. Hire Wally Backman 3. Pick up Al leiter's 2005 option. 4. Move Cliff Floyd to first base. Have Wally Backman sit down with him and explain that playing 1b will be less of a strain on his legs. 5. Buy out Hidalgo's contract, negotiate an extension. 6. Sign Magglio Ordonez to play LF. 8. the reason you dont like howe is because in your eyes he seems to make inexperienced moves (not the case most of the time btw) so signing an inexperienced manager will fix that?
Floyd is scared to play first because of what happened to him years ago |

He doesn't make inexperienced mistakes. He makes stupid mistakes.
Get him unscared. Have him work with Keith hernandez, have him visit a hypnotist, do whatever it takes. |

i like your bench and your bullpen somewhat but i think steve kline would be a better option then trever miller, kline is a veteran that has had a good career and most importantly he can get lefties out! floyd isn't going to play first so just forget about that, the best thing to do is trade him and at least get something good in return, there's no way the mets should re-sign hidalgo, he had a hot start but has cooled down and is showing warning signs of not being that good of a hitter especially in a place like shea which is a pitchers park! hidalgo is nothing but a pull hitter and pitchers are starting to pitch him away and he has looked foolish in every at bat i've seen him in for the past 2 weeks! i'd rather the mets keep bottalico then go and sign williamson, he's not that good of a pitcher, he's ok but sometimes has problems with his control, bottalico would come cheaper and i trust him in a big spot, as for howe i say fire him and let don baylor take over!!! :D |

I like Steve Kline a little better two. Overall however timo I really like that lineup, I would try to sign Delgado and trade Floyd to an AL team though, however I could live with that team |

That I do and here is why... C-Del's Stats Look on his years from 2001-2003, INCREDIBLE. Now I have learned not to go on past performances but look at Delgado's OBP .331 is not a very respectable number BUT when you take into account the fact that he is only hitting .229 the stat becomes impressive. A player with a .300 average is supposedly suppost to have a .375 OBP. If Delgado bats .300 then his OBP sky rockets to the .430 area. He had his success in Toronto when he had bats around him. This year more teams are pitching around him to get to the other hitters in the Blue Jay lineup, thus he is not seeing many fastballs and ends up flying out or grounding out because he has absolutley no protection. Now look at Delgados Sluggling... It is a .458, remember SLG% is calculated by TBs/ABs. .458 means that Delgado averages a 1/4 of a base every time at bat, THAT IS VERY IMPRESSIVE if you take into account that there are only 4 bases to go on, anything over .400 is really good. Even with his low OBP Delgado has still managed a very respectable .790 OPS (On-Base + Slugging %), an .800 OPS is what supposedly dfines a "very good player", thus Delgado is a "very good player" who walks a lot and has power and the ability to drive in runs. As an added perk you also get a 1B who actually knows how to play it rather than this 1B by commitee. phew that was a lot to write, I hope I made my point |

You never said anything about re-signing him. And Delgado is never gonna be the same player he was. |

Enough with the obsession with moving Floyd to 1B, Timo. He's not doing it, he's afraid to play there. The Red sox tried to get him to play there once in a while and he refused. |

Floyd is not going to 1B. I think Delgado would be a GREAT FA signing. I don't think he's anywhere close to being done. However, if I'm him I don't know if I want to go to Flushing. That place has been a jinx for FA's lately. :serious: |
