Did we ever think we'd see the day where it would be August and Pedro Martinez had an ERA over 4. :serious: He's been human this year.

He still has a high strikeout total but he's walked more and given up a lot more HRs. He's very beatable this year. The highest ERA he's ever had over a full year is 3.70. I wonder if he'll be able to bring his ERA down.

He might be hurt. All that wear on his arm could be building up.
George is probably going to get Pedro next year anyway.
I would still take RJ over him for 05.

Pedro doesn't deserve to wear Yankee pinstripes ever. I want no part of him in '05. Let him stay in Boston or go to the Mets.

I don't want him. Not because he's an a-hole who deserves to get kicked in the face (a 20 win season and we'd stop hating him as much), but because he's on the decline. I don't want someone who is an injury risk and is breaking down gradually. From start to start, the Sox don't know what they're getting from him. I'd rather go after Carl Pavano. But I do think that George will want Pedro. Especially if our pitching doesn't come through in the playoffs. He'll overreact.

He can throw one pitch and his career will be over. He would be a huge risk.

He'll resign in Boston. He won't leave his boyfriends Manny and Ortiz.
