Why would Chris Russo, working solo Monday — the day after Mets' cable telecasts were pulled from nearly 2 million area households — spend all sorts of time on Mets' issues, but none on the issue of the games being removed from TV? Two reasons:

1) Despite several such sports-related cable hassles through the years, Russo has never taken the time to even marginally educate himself about such matters, and

2) Russo has shown, time and again, that consumer issues that don't affect him are unworthy of his attention.

Imagine, though, if YES, which simulcasts his WFAN show and from which he collects an additional salary, had been dropped in 2 million Time-Warner households. You think he'd see that as an insignificant issue, unworthy of his attention?

Monday, however, Russo, never short on simplistic observations, launched a riff during which he insisted that Vijay Singh is not a great golfer because, after all, he has won only two majors.

Well, then, Singh must be twice as good as Phil Mickelson, who has won only one major. Singh, by the toughest standards other than Russo's, is a great golfer. Then again, the bigger the village, the bigger the village idiot.

NOBODY ELSE HAS MENTIONED HIS CONSTANT KNOCK ON METS NEW 3B DAVID WRIGHT ("HE'S GOOD..BUT HE'S NO MIKE SCHMIDT")
???????????? HOW THE f*ck DO YO KNOW WHAT HE IS!!! HOW?? DID ANYONE KNOW JETER WOULD BE JETER??? OR THAT BERNIE WOULD HAVE THE CAREER HE DID??/ HE MAY BE BETTER THAN SCHMIDT..HE MAY BE SCOTT ROLEN...WHO KNOWS....WHAT A DICKBAG.... :furious:

YES!

I mentioned Mushnik vs. Russo the other day. I said that I don't like Mushnik, but I love the fact that he hates "Beached whale w/ titties and Puberty voiced Fruit Cake". I just wish that more people would make fun of them or more people would read the Mushnik articles. He's out to embarass them a-holes and he reads into everything. I like that. I haven't even read the thing yet.

The first anti-jackasses Mushnik article I read was him calling them out as liars. They had made comments (if I went into it, it would make my post too long and you jerks fear reading) during the post 9/11 shows on U.S. policy. Mushnik, a year later, wrote a column on it and showed 'em up. Those clowns denied it and when asked to play a tape of the episode, they said that they weren't taping around that time. But it didn't matter, cuz I remembered it. Lying mother f*ckers. The White Uncle Phil gotcha!

Mushnick has always had it in for the arrogant duo, but he's on the money most of the time.

I'll agree with you here, Kocur.

Wright at this point is an unknown . If anything, he looks quite impressive for a rookie.

Here's my biggest problem with what Russo said...since when did Wright have to be as great as Mike Schmidt for his career to be a success? I'd be thrilled with another Howard Johnson circa 1989(.287, 36 homeruns, 101 rbi, 41 sb).

.287/36 HR/101 RBI/41 SB......

Those are big numbers. Mike Scmidt was a career .267 hitter (going on memory).
Wright isn't gonna steal 41 bases and challenge 40/40. I also doubt that he's a 36 dinger hitter. Not saying that he isn't a good player, but I think those expectations are too high. I can see him in his prime doing: .310/25 HR/115 RBI/40 2B/10 SB. He looks more like a linedrive doubles hitter than a real slugger.

It was just some free agent 3B. I said Eric Chavez. At the time, Wright was unproven and was playing in AA.

And how the hell are you bringing something up? You're the one who claimed that .266 is better than .307. You might as well just stop watching baseball.

awwwwwwww i made you look stupid so you want to bring up the beltran/sheffield thing for the 10th million time well like i said before sheffield was hitting for a better average but besides that they were equal in every stat, beltran even had some stats that were higher then sheffield's, look it's ok you were wrong and i was right, that's the way it always is so deal with it!!! :peace:

You weren't saying they were equal. You said that Beltran deserved it because he's been more consistent. I even told you that if you wanted to argue Sheffield vs. Beltran, you'd have to bring up baserunning and defense instead of hitting. You chose to stick with that "consistent .266 beats .307 because of hotstreak" nonsense. Then we attacked you. You deserved it.

f*ck you, you mention their average but that's it, beltran was leading sheffield in homeruns and rbi's (not by alot but he was leading him in those stats), i stated my case now and stated it then, you guys have good points about shef but so do i about beltran!!! :peace:

Beltran is a great player, but he doesn't compare to Sheffield. Sheffield can hit any pitcher at any time. Beltran hasn't proven to be clutch yet at this stage of his career.

Yeah, great thing about :chef: is he would rather face Tim Hudson then some schmuck no name pitcher. He said the semi slow start he had was because he was facing crappy pitching!

Has anyone seen Sheff's "Beyond The Glory"? It came on about a year ago. I didn't watch the entire thing, but I saw the part where he talks about getting shot. He said that while he was at a light, someone ran up to the car and shot him in the shoulder (hmm). Sheff said that he then turned the car around and tried to go after the guy. Loo a di nuts un dat guy! You think Beltran would have done that? Even Roger "Soda Water" Clemens would have shitted himself. If only we had gotten him sooner. He would have been the perfect replacement for Paulie after '01.
