I think even the "fans" who look for rain on a sunny day have to admit that Brown is one hell of a pitcher and when healthy, certainly qualifies as a #1 ace.

His parasite illness just may be a blessing in disguise, since it gave him a chance to rest his back and be fresh for the post season.

Better than Brown when healthy(no order):

Mulder
Schmidt
Schilling
Martinez
Prior
Wood
Johnson

Minus Wood and I agree with that list. Wood is all hype. He has amazing stuff, but he doesn't get it done with consistancy.

I don't mean to say he isn't a very good pitcher, but he's also inconsistant. I'd rather have Brown than Wood.

I can take off Wood but I can also add Glavine, Clemens, Hudson, and Moyer.

This season you can include Leiter in this list, but I'm not enough of a homer to make the argument.

Not to bash Brown, but part of an Ace's job is being healthy.

But hey - if he can stay healthy for the playoffs, then he can be our Playoff Ace. That's what we really need anyway.

That really should be Priority #1 for this team for the rest of the season. Keep Brown healthy for the playoffs. If that motherfu<ker so much as farts, you put his ass on the DL.

When Brown has his A-#1 stuff no team is beating him. But the same goes for the other 10 or so top pitchers in baseball. The question with Brown is health.

Nobody ever said Brown wasnt a good pitcher . What we said was that he was fragile , and you could guarantee he was gonna spend time on the DL . Well , we were right about that , now lets just hope he doesnt have to go back again . There are no guarantees with Brown . I am going to start holding my....... breath ........right .......now .

I can think of 6 or 7 pitchers that are better than him, and another group of pitchers that I would consider equal to him.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Brown.

TimoTool, the point is you can make an argument for Brown being one of the top 5 pitchers in the game. When Brown is healthy he's one of the best....PERIOD>

I would agree, Brown might not be top 5. But he is in the top 8 for sure. And there is NO WAY in hell Moyer is better.
