Well you shouldnt, its not a coincidence that John Smoltz always made him look like a little leaguer, one of the biggest problems this season has been clutch hitting

For the record, that piece of "garbage" does have a hit off of Smoltz in his career and clutch hitting has been a team problem not restricted to that piece of "garbage." And that AB where he was made to look like a "little leaguer" came as a pinch-hitter. Pinch-hitting is one of the hardest things to do in a baseball. Pinch-hitting against Smoltz? Good luck.

You take your Superman and I'll take the "garbage." :peace:

Vance Wilson had his 1st AB of a game against Smoltz last week, he battled him for 10 pitches. He looked like he belonged in the major leagues.

And you want to award a medal to Wigginton bc/ he has a hit off Smoltz in what was more than likely a meaningless situation>

Wigginton is the most unclutch hitter on the team

Nah. When it comes to that piece of "garbage," I like to look at the good things he brings and how they outweigh the bad.

Not being able to hit with RISP is a pretty big part of him......I'm sorry, but I just can't look the other way on that.

neither can mcewing, he has a couple of good days and now all of the sudden he can hit with runners in scoring position? you do remember last year and how he couldn't hit his way out of a paper bag, its only a matter of time before he shows why you call him "mcuseless".

Why so pessimistic? Maybe the old McEwing is finally back.

And not many players are worse than .187 with RISP. That's just disgusting and inexcusable for Wigginton, a supposed "every day player."

I like Joe Mac, but there are better options available within this organization.

McEwing can play every single position out there and actually do well in the process.

And he can hit. Definitely a good guy to have around.

:blahblah:

I like to blame the RISP for his failures. When they aren't there, he's proven what he can do! :smirk:

Nah. He can't hit. Perhaps .220 5 HRs 21 RBIs if he's an everyday player. One thing he can do that no other Met seems to know how to do is bunt.

He's sound fundamentally. With Kaz out of the lineup we're automatically a better fundamental team.

All I'm saying is, he can hit decently when we need him in the lineup. He's put in for defense, but the fact that he can handle the bat is a bonus.
