He can't handle the pressure of NY. All this guy has done is beat up on the O's. Don't believe me? Check his splits. |

He's just like every other big name player we get. They come over here and never match what they've done in the past. In some cases I think it's because they're soft, in others, like with A-Rod, I think it's because they think by just putting on the pinstripes that will automatically make them winners. Doesn't work that way, you have to EARN it. Guys like the Babe, Gehrig, Joe D., Mantle, Marris, etc. must all be sick looking down and watching some of these losers. |

He's a $16 mil Alfonso Soriano. I really overrated this guy when we got him. I was ecstatic when the trade was made. Now I wonder why they bothered? This clown is going to screw us over so bad in the playoffs it's not even funny. |

A-Rod's the type of guy who'll hit .154 in a playoff series. He's f*cked us so many times this season it's not even funny. |

A-Rod has 6 years on his contract after this one. You don't think he'll ever hit .300+ with 40 HR, 115+ RBI and hit well with RISP again? You guys are a joke. You judge everything on the short-term. You're never happy. |

This is 2004, not 2005, I don't give a f*cking about the next season until it comes. Right now, A-Rod is a f*cking joke. I want to win NOW. |

The big picture? The big picture for 2004 is that if he keeps this up he will f*ck us over in the playoffs. Like I said, I only care about what happens NOW, this season, not '05 and beyond because we aren't there yet. |

Here's some big picture for ya...12 Homeruns at home 7 to RF...or as I call it..the Mattingly CheapSeats... Shows he's padded his stats playing in two Homer Happy ballparks...The disgraceful Kingdome...where MM could drive a wiffle ball out with his crutch...and the BP at Arlington which is Camden Yards south... ARod is a fraud....a very very good player..but nowhere near the hype. |

I understand that, but NOW equals every at bat of every game to you people. Then you'll gloss over his big moments as if they never happened, just as you do with Mussina. Then again, the past means nothing to you obviously, so you just look at Mussina as the piece of sh*t with the 5.20 ERA, and assume he can't pitch well ever again. The day's game you are watching is all that matters to you. You idiots would have booed and ripped Mattingly too. I think Kocur is the only person who lived through those days that rips Mattingly. If you want to be like Kocur, you're doing a great job at following his lead. |

I've never ripped Mattingly. And it's a totally different situation so don't try that bull crap. The bottomline here is that A-Rod has not lived up to the hype and he isn't a home grown Yankee. Nothing wrong with getting on his case. I want the 2003 MVP, not a more expensive Alfonso Soriano. |

:dunno: Maybe he didn't like the guy and he has reasons. Doesn't make you a better fan because you like Mattingly and he didn't. Everyone is allowed to root for their team and players on their team the way they choose and should be able to do it without being ripped by other people. |

Did I like Don Mattingly? Yes... Do I think he had a couple VERY good years...Yes. HOF'er? NO! Great Fielder? Yes , not as good as Hernandez though. His career in the 1990's? Horrendous-Thievery Overrated? One of the most of all time...PPL loved him b/c they hung onto his big years...and well b/c the Yankees flat out sucked...so PPL always romaticized him and his ailing back...Or as I like to say..made excuses... |

A-Rod's BA against top teams in AL: Anaheim--.292 Boston--.280 Oakland--.259 Texas--.391 ChiSox--.269 If anything BC, you're dead wrong. He's done better against the top teams as oppossed to the one's he should be dominating. Arizona (.231), Toronto (.211), Mets (.125) and Tampa (2.18) |
