Look at his arm. His shoulder and forearm are ahead of his elbow, hes snapping the pitch off. Its a still frame so I cant say that he doesnt all the time, but if he does he'll get hurt. You cant stress your elbow like that constantly.

Watch his arm wshen he comes up see if he does it all the time

His arm angle looks as if hes throwing a curve ball. Being a pitcher right now i know you change your arm angle and pull down on the ball, kind of throwing it like a football. I don't see anything wrong with his arm there.

He doesnt throw a curveball (Fastball, slider, changeup) It could be a changeup in which case Id be completely wrong. But if its something hard between 92-96 then hes gonna get hurt, his elbow shouldnt be torqued that much

And also, even if hes throwing a curveball (which I wasnt aware that he had) but lets assume hwas, the point is the rest of his body is done with the motion his plant foot is down and the elbow comes late and snaps off that puts alot of pressure on his elbow which was my point

Give me a break.

Scott Kazmir said today that when he threw a bullpen situation for Peterson he was told that he shouldn't change anything and that his throwing motion was perfect.

I dont care what Peterson said. He pitches completely with his elbow in that picture, his plant foot is down and his whole body is ahead of his elbow.

His elbow absorbs all the pressure on the pitch

You don't care what Peterson said? Then what are you basing your opinion of this trade on?

Nevermind the fact that it's difficult to tell exactly where his arm is in that picture.

Not that I dont care, Im gonna watch when he pitches with the D-Rays and see if its any different. But its obvious in that picture, his foot is down, is arm is through and then his elbow comes through and snaps off. That part is obvious and if hes like that all the time hes gonna get hurt.

And I dont know what Perterson said to Kazmir in Spring, but I read a general quote (I dont know who said it) that said they didnt like how he snaps off on every pitch. Thats what made me notice it in your picture.

I honestly dont think ive ever noticed somethin like that, but its obvious on that particular pitch that everything is done and then his elbow comes through and throws the pitch

Personally, I think you're making a big deal over nothing. You can't tell anything from that picture.

Just look.

1. His foot is down
2. His shoulder/Forearm has gone as far as it will go
3. His elbow still has to come through its behind the rest of his body.

Actually, it looks to me like the elbow is in front of the rest of his body.

Thats his forearm. Look at his hand, its cocked back. Thats means the elbow still has to come through

Also if his elbow cant be the first thing through in that picture. The ball is too high. If his elbow came through first with the ball over the top like it is the pitch would go flying Rick Ankiel style

Yeah I wasnt talkin about you. But I swear there is somehnig wrong with that picture. Just try it.

Take a baseball and throw over the top letting your elbow go through before everything else, the ball goes flying.

Do the same thing but put your elbow through last and maybe you'll understand what im trying to point out.
