Michael Kay was killing them. Basically saying what we know: He was rated high and even if he was overrated, the league was fooled. They could have gotten better than Zambrano for him. As I'm typing this, another fan just called in complaining about it. |

Why shouldn't met fans listen to the radio? It's mets fans that are the most upset! I just started listening to the Dan Patrick show, the mets are even getting bashed on national radio. |

:fyou: You're the gay one Ray. We did overpay for Benson, but after this Zambrano thing, that seems minor. |

These are the Mets, nothing like this ever goes the right way. In 2 years Zambrano will probably be the one that blows out his arm and Kazmir will be an impact pitcher in the league. |

The difference is the Braves have a history of being right. The Mets have a history of being wrong. We shall see, but I'd be foolish to believe that the Mets didn't make a mistake. |

Met22, what the hell are you talking about? Moss was never anything more than a mid-level prospect who had one good season, and the deal was more of a salary dump by the Giants. The Zambrano deal wasn't close to being a real salary dump. |

Merkin Valdez wasn't anywhere near the prospect Kazmir is. |

yes he was, this is the scouting report from baseball america prospect handbook. number 1 prospect in the organization. i am gonna sum it up. ...."he goes on about what he has done in the past, then it says, throws a two seam heater that rates a 70 on a 20-80 scouting scale due to its excellent sink and consistent velocity. he can run it 96-98 in relief but it sits at 92-95. he is not afraid to work inside or attack lefties. the giants rate his slder as a 60 pitch, and then it says he will compete for a major league job" he is 6-3 170, right, right born in 1981. this kid is a hell of a prospect whether you want to believe it or not. |

You were right about Merkin Valdez. But here's another reason why the comparison is a poor one: Russ ortiz' last season with the Giants: 14-10, 3.61 ERA Victor Zambrano's last full season with the D-Rays: 12-10, 4.21 Zambrano's last half season with the D-Rays: 9-7, 4.33 The braves were getting a much more sure thing in ortiz. |

although russ ortiz may have been more of a sure thing, but zambrano has better stuff. so it kinda equals out. |

lets not forget zambrano pitched in the american league which what auotmatically make his ERA almost a run higher, also piniella is a great manager but has no patient for pitchers and especially for zambrano, he'd take zambrano sometimes in the 4th inning cause he was walking too many batters!!! |
