As far as I'm concerned, nobody on our farm is untouchable. We need a starting pitcher - NOW!

The only thing worse than having a 200 million dollar All Star team (which we have right now) is having a 200 million dollar All Star team that doesn't win because we don't have a rotation.

Kansas City and Seattle didn't want catcher Dioner Navarro and infielder Robinson Cano in a trade for Carlos Beltran and Freddy Garcia, respectively, but other teams apparently are interested in the Yanks' recently promoted duo.

A bevy of scouts was on hand for the players' Triple-A debut Monday night in Columbus. The Diamondbacks, who say they aren't shopping Randy Johnson, were joined by the Pirates, A's, Indians, Reds, Red Sox, Phillies and Blue Jays.

hmm...the D'Backs (RJ :D), Pirates (Benson <_<), A's (Zito??? :D), Indians (Sabathia??? :D), Reds (Paul Wilson?), Red Sox (), Phillies (:dunno:) & Blue Jays (Lilly? :D), eh? sounds like somethin's-a-brewin'. :D

I don't see why Cleveland would trade Sabathia.

me neither...i'm just trying to guess who on that team the Yankees would be interested in...who else do they have that we would need at this point that would justify their scouts being at the game to see our prospects i wonder? :dunno:

Lilly's a young lefty w/a 7-4 record & a respectable .244 BA against this season...what's wrong w/that?

& you wouldn't be interested in Zito either? you'd rather go after who?

I was kidding about Zito. It was a shot at Met fans. They think they'll get him because Rick Peterson is some miracle worker and his not being in Oakland is the reason he sucks now. I think it's total BS.

there's no way i regard him as highly as Unit bro, trust me...i just think he'd be a cheap alternative to fill the #4 or #5 spot for us in lieu of the lack of any stellar alternate options out there since you can't get RJ. i'd trade Cano for Lilly in a heartbeat.
