The reason marv Albert was let go was because he was too critical of the Knicks.

:wtf: when I'm watching the game I want the truth about what's happening, not a Dolan press release.

That is true. When Mike Breen talks, he seems to have his head up Isiah's a$$ (ie. after we got ripped off for Marbury, and then that stupid Van Horn for TT trade), whereas Marv is more of a gloomy talker. But still, Breen will be fine, although I will miss Marv.

That's stupid. You should be allowed to say what you want. If the team sucks, I don't want to hear the announcer saying how this team is good.

The funny thing is that during the season, I was criticizing Albert for not being critical enough. Before the Marbury trade, when there was no reason to watch this team, he wasn't saying anything negative about them. I figured that if it was torture for me to watch almost every game, it must suck to have to call them and he'd take a couple shots. I don't remember Marv really saying anything bad except a couple examples late in the season when he talked about their inability to get defensive stops and the fact that they needed to get faster and more athletic. This is just Dolan being an a-hole, again. Just when he had people getting off his back a little because of Isaiah and the fact that Cablevision hasn't raised the rates in 4 months, he goes and screws it up. Not that I think Marv Albert's a great announcer, but I know that he's a legend and he shouldn't have been disrespected like that....over some stupid sh*t.

You know what I'd love? If the YES network really was interested in him, fired Ian Eagle, and MSG picked him up. He's great.

Agreed. It's the latest disgrace in a long line since James Dolan took over the Garden.

It's probably more about money, but you're right. I can totally expect that from Dolan. I don't understand him at times really. He's like a little kid screwing around with the neighborhood playground. See, if it were only about money, I would feel a whole lot better for once. I would be thrilled to have Gus Johnson as the main radio announcer and Breen as the TV one.

Again though. It just goes to show the ignorance of Dolan. He can't take any criticism whatsoever.

I would rather have Ian than Marv. Marv will always be a Knick announcer.

I'd rather have Ian Eagle because he's better. I know that Marv is a legend, but Eagle is better than he is right now.
