THIS IS THE ONLY TIME THAT THE LAKERS FACED THAT HAS EXPOSED THE WEAKNESS OF THE LAKERS WHICH IS THEY CAN'T HANDLE IS THE PICK AND ROLL . I AM HAPPY THAT IT IS ONE OF THE EASTERN TEAMS THAT CAN DEFEAT THE LAKERS AND IT WOULD SHUT EVERY BODY WHO THINKS THE EAST DON'T HAVE NO BODY. plus they have the malone curse the only ring malone family is goin to have is from is daugther. Apparently what San Antonio does has been forgotten. I agree, the Lakers have never defended the pick-and-roll well, (mostly because Shaq is too lazy to come out more than 12 feet from the rim,) but San Antonio is a huge pick-and-roll team. I just think Detroit goes after every rebound, every loose ball, and all five guys they have out on the floor at a given time are not one bit scared of the Lakers or their mystique. The Lakers can't and won't match that intensity. Detroit's got to continue to hit shots though. San Antonio is a better team than the Lakers, but that long layoff after game #2 hurt them, as did playing guys like Turkoglu and Nesterovic. Those guys were clearly scared out there. Duncan couldn't do it all himself when Parker started missing shots on the road. Is it possible for Turkoglu to hit a freakin' open three just once? He wanted no part of the series. That shot that Duncan hit in game #5 that would have won it had Fisher not answered at the other end was hilarious to me. Turkoglu was at the top of the key wearing that, "Please Tim, don't pass it to me. Please!!" You can't win with a couple of guys playing scared... |
