If it was just a Yankees shirt in general, I'd consider buying it.

I ordered it this morning!

That shirt is so money!

 Funny Drew.

Anyway, yeah, that shirt is so f*cking money!

Are you going to get the "Got Melky?" shirt? It has that and the interlocking NY on the front, plus his name and number on the back.

They might have finished filming the season before Melky came on the scene. I looked it up and Debi Mazar had her baby on March 17, 2006.

The Mick!  Of course!  I usually see him on a bike on 25A by Randall.

Exactly! Hilarious. He hangs out on the corner at 25A and Wading River Manor Road near Phil's a lot. There's a bench there. The corner you mentioned, if you mean the Randall in Shoreham, not Wading River, is right near my grandparents' house.

Yeah - I've seen him a few times. Robbed him a few times too.

J/K But yes I've seen him. Over by Phils.

OK I read a little of this thread for the first time ever...Maybe 10 pages back....
I think the "double colors" issue is hysterical....It could almost be the premise of a Seinfeld episode...But I totally get Matty's point..

However, I have my own rules on this, up for discussion.....

1. No mix and match.

Meaning: I am not wearing a Knicks cap and a Yankee Jersey, or a Ranger jersey and a Giants hat....If you are going to wear multiple logoed items,or "double colors", they must always be from the same team...No discussion, you immediately are labeled as a Tool....

2. You can not wear 2 different teams in the same league or sport....EVER.

Meaning: I am not wearing a Notre Dame hat and a Michigan jersey, or a Sabres jersey and an Islander hat...I have seen people try to pull this off....A. They look like Tools...B. you immediately know they are not real fans, real fans only have one team per sport.

3. The "double colors" issue..

I dont necessarily have issue with it, however I choose not to rock that look too often for myself....Unless I am going to a game, then I will usually throw on an official team cap, and a related t-shirt...I dont do pro-style jerseys, they are for rappers and wiggers...IF I had one, that would need to be jersey only, no hat, or else I would feel like a tool...MAYBE I could live with cap AND jersey, but ONLY at a game.....

Example: If I am going to a Yankee game, I will wear my blue Yankee t-shirt with the interlocking NY on the front, and Munson 15 on the back.( Thanks Matty )...Traditional Blue Yankee hat on top ( beat up and skanky Wetteland 96 style ) and I am out the door....Or my 1996 WS championship T, White, or my 2000 Subway Series championship T, White, with the traditional Blue interlocking NY cap.

I think for me double colors become gay when you try to pull it off as a tight look...You know, the hat is brand new, the shirt is pressed, you are just trying hard to impress while wearing the double colors.....Gay....
If you go hat and jersey, but that hat is backwards, or completely tore up, you are money....Youre not trying to hard, you look a little scroungy and casual, it's all good...
Hat and T shirt is almost always cool because it is laid back, like you are going to a game, or the gym, or the courts....Not the bar....And offsetting colors are better than both items being the same color....white and blue, blue and grey, etc...

4. Alternative styles

These can be ok if you are going with a "traditional alternative"

Meaning: You have a white, black, or grey cap, as opposed to Blue, but it has the standard team logo, or something subtle and a little different, but cool...

If you have a Green Yankee cap, or a hot pink Red Sox cap, or a camoflage hat you are immediately a tool, chalked up to a bandwagon hopper or wearing your sh*t as a fashion statement, not because you are a fan.

Also, alternatives must be worn as a one piece, multiple matching alternatives make you look like a doosh with the quickness...

IMO wear your alternative styles with care, this is a very risky area.....

I honestly cannot believe I had that much thought put into it.... :bag:

But I guess if you think about it, everybody has their own rules for what they feel comfortable wearing...

All good points, BC2. I try not to ever do the double color thing, but your examples aren't bad. I do break one of yours sometimes. For example, you saw me break it at the Giants/Cardinals game in Tempe. I had on the Manning jersey and Duke cap. They are the exact same color blue, I wanted to wear a cap, and wasn't about to wear my Giants cap with my Manning jersey. Also I had on my money Adidas Yankees shorts the other day around the house and didn't feel like getting dressed up to go food shopping, nor did I want to style up my 'do, so I had on a Knicks cap. So I break that rule pretty often. I've seen you break my double colors rule and not look like a toolbox. Maybe you fit into my exception of it being ok for old guys!

I also have a couple of beige and grey Yankee caps that aren't flamboyant like the silly green, red, camoflauge, pink, or like the one Strider is sporting in his pic! Usually I kick it in the traditional midnight blues though.

Funny line from Joel Sherman today:

Quote:

Several Yankees have begun sporting mustaches as a sign of unity akin to playoff beards in the NHL. Jason Giambi was the ringleader - which seems the proper term since this is part of a spirited attempt to win a ring - and teammates such as Johnny Damon, Ron Villone and Jaret Wright all were mysteriously beginning to look like 1970s porn actors, as well.

Funny thing you bring up that "alternatives" point, BC2, because in the picture M23 posted of me wearing the "New York" jersey and a Mets hat, that Mets hat is NOT an official cap. I don't do that because I really have no official caps; they're all some off-the-wall design, non authentic.

And I never mix the teams, I've never worn a Rangers jersey and a Mets hat, or vice-versa.

I had these wiggers at my job who walk around brim flat tilted and it's some black hat with carolina blue little interlocken ny's all over the hat! As BC2 said, that automatically makes you a tool! You can not own merchandise of more then one team in a single sport. If you have Yankee stuff I don't want to see you rockign a Chi Sox cap a week later, that's so f*cking lame! I have a friend who has a Red Sox hat and a Yankee hat, what a flamer!!!!

I stopped wearing jersey's when I was in high school; however, football jersey's are an exception to this rule. I must own a ton of jersey's, but I only wear my Jet jersey's or I'll wear my Magic jersey's to the beach since they are tanks. My baseball jersey's and hockey jersey's (devils and islanders) yes I broke my two team rule but I don't like hockey and i'm not a real hockey fan so it doesn't count. All the jerseys pretty much stay in the closet!!!!! The Jet ones come out because they look so damn good and I feel comfortable rocking a football jersey. :agent:

I wear my Yankee T's (the jersey t's) to the bar or a day of any big game.
