Until he gets his act together, they should consider temporarily batting Jeter lower in the order. Lead off Lofton and bat Bernie 2nd. This would take the pressure off him and allow us to get some runners on for hot A-Rod to drive in... |

Yeah, bat him 9th for a week and see if it breaks him loose. |

It is amazing how horrible he has been. I know players go through slumps but this is really starting to bother me. :no1: |

At least til he regains his stroke and gets a few hits. It would help our run production and we wouldn't give up much in speed since after the first time through the lineup, he'd be batting in front of Lofton and Bernie. Lately, it's been either strike out or worse, double play. Brutal... Just Brutal. I sincerely want him to do well. You'll not hear me say he's finished etc like some lame posters. I think a move to ninth might do the trick. |

I'm with you. He's not done. I will never say he sucks, but right now he is sucking. There's a difference. He's been awful, but he is not an awful player. Some people here just like to overreact about everything. It probably makes them feel stupid that they rip on the guy when he hits .300. This is the time he deserves some ribbing, not when he's hitting .300+. I would bat him 9th for a week or so, but there's a chance Torre won't. He's used that method in the past, but might not in this case. Torre's two spots to get guys out of slumps have traditionally been the 2 and 9 spots. It looks to be time to pull that trigger temporarily. Maybe he will break out of it this inning. One could only hope! |

You know that's not gonna happen. Joe's too loyal to his players, which is bad at times, especially right now, since Jeter is basically a rally killer the way he's hitting now. |

Torre has dropped Paulie, Bernie, and others before. No reason that Jeter should be an exception. |

I was gonna say, "Don't you feel naked without that dick in your ass anymore?" But that would be vulgar and disrespectful. So I'll sub it with this: "No more wet-naps for you buddy. Well, not until Mussina's next start." :P |

I usually don't agree with moving people around in the lineup, but Jeter has been god-awful for the majority of the season, and its to the point where you dread seeing him come up in the middle of a rally. He doesn't even hit the ball hard for christ sake. Last night he goes from a 3-0 count to 3-2, then hits a roller to second. He's lost at the plate, and until he finds himself again, he's gotta be in a place in the order where he's not going to kill the team. |

You have to face facts. Bernie is hitting close to .290 the last 3 weeks. Should have the game winning RBI last night :furious: |

As someone who supports Jeter and also wants him to do well, I think that your position makes complete sense, He is killing us and it's hard to imagine that he is doing so poorly I believe that Arod coming here has made him press and the worse he does the more he presses, Joe? The only person doing worse than Jeter is Joe one isn’t hitting and the other isn't managing. Put jeter down the lineup. Send Joe upstairs and let’s get someone who knows what the hell is going on. |

The thing that is gonna piss me off is if they say he was playing hurt. If he is hurt then sit. If he is healthy then bat 9th cause he is KILLING this team. |
