He thinks will do great with Osborne all year and looks forward to seeing pitchers get guys out that don't have stuff like the Big Unit. That's the point moron, Osborne can't get guys out. :fyou: |

I can't believe he was actually praising Osborne, I know he is biased towards pitchers because he was one, but that is just sick. :puke: |

The thing that bothers me with Kaat is that "Everything is a strike" talk. I know you're gonna be slightly biased because you were a pitcher, but come on. I get so pissed when the overhead shows a ball 6 inches off the plate and this old geezers come in and says, "I caught the black of the plate and it was knee high." You guys already know that I hate that "every umpire has his own strike zone" nonsense. Its disgusting. I won't be happy till robots officiate the game. <-- Yes, I ranted and went off subject a little, but it ties together. Overall, Kaat's OK. Michael Kay is more annoying. "GET UP AND STRETCH!" "An unmanageable 3 hours and 10 minutes." "The interlocking NY." And all his other DEAD phrases. Vin was right. They should fire him then offer Costas Scrooge McDucks' money bin to be our play-by-play guy. |

I don't mind Kaat. Kay has to be the worst announcer ever! He doesn't know how to call a game. He gets so excited over a little infield single or a ground ball to 2nd base! Fire his ass! |

But before we start the petition to fire Michael Kay...I'd like my GM spot back. After I kissed your ass with all that Colonel crap. That's the last time I ever suck a dick to get what I want. Well...maybe not the last. But for now...unless I really have to. Or I'm tipsy on a Saturday night... You get the idea. You took advantage of me. |

Kay is not as bad as Fran Healy. When he did the radio games with the Scooter back in the '80s, you never knew what was going on. |

:serious: of course you'd think that. you're not a mets fan. i know some that don't like him, but i know more that do. and he's a good announcer; you wouldn't know unless you listen to him every day. |

No. If I'm not mistaken, Healy used to call games for the Yankees. |

Yes, Healy used to announce Yankee games back in the day. I think he went straight from behind the plate with the Yankees to the booth in the middle of the same season. Most of my friends are Met fans and they all think Healy is a joke. I watch the Mets almost every day. I know a good announcer when I hear one. I do a great Fran Healy impersonation that my Met fan friends enjoy. I usually include his funny way of saying "Piazza" in all impersonations. I also do a mean Bobby Valentine. Suzyn Waldman is awful. She only has her job because she hands out Surhoffs to Steinbrenner. As for Jim Kaat, I think he is a great analyst. I don't mind that he is impartial to pitchers. That is to be expected from a former great pitcher. I think his point about Osborne was that he likes seeing a game in which the pitcher really has to work to win the game. He said it's easy for a guy like Randy Johnson. I don't think he meant anything big by it. What I do hate about Kaat though is that he gives away the Aflac Trivia Answer immediately after the question is asked! It's one thing if he guesses right before they give the answer, but he guesses immediately. He's usually right, but that is to be expected for someone who has spent 40+ years in pro baseball. Give the fans a chance to guess! |

Healy was a Yankee announcer first and was awful...and he still is. Gary Cohen is excellent. |

Yeah, Gary Cohen is great. It's just funny how he says Edgardo Alfonzo's last name. His homerun call is money. It hurts my throat when I try to copy it. |

damn i didn't know he did yankee games........i guess that was before my time. i like him.....i think he works great with both guys: ted robinson and keith hernandez. and yes, cohen is one of the best, if not the best, in the game. i haven't listened to him in awhile, but if i remember correctly, he says "Alfonzo" like "Al-phone-zo"......LOL |

I'm rarely biased about anything and certainly not baseball announcers. Fran Healy is terrible. If he were calling games for the Expos I'd think he sucks.
Surhoffs, BRILLIANT! Its Surhoff's first name if anyone didn't get it. |

I liked him when he did Mets games.......he's really opinionated though and not afraid to call a manager or a player stupid for doing something......isn't that why the Mets got rid of him? :dunno: |

I like that he's opinionated. He has a sharp baseball mind and is thus usually right with his controvercial calls. And he has the guts to speak his mind no matter who he might offend. We need more like him... |
